Slipping through the doors, the four quickly find themselves in a room darker than the night outside. A darkness that becomes complete for a moment as the door closes behind before being relieved by a pair of pale green orbs that coalesce near Lily's head and begin a slow orbit there.

Their light reveals a short flight of stone steps leading down into the cold earth to a crypt lined with empty niches. Two doors sit in the opposite wall, beckoning the intruders further in.

Perception DC 15:
You see a single set of human tracks in the dust of the floor.

Female Human (Varisian) Sorcerer (Shadow Bloodline) 1

Offering a shy smile, Lily reaches out a hand, sending two more globes of pale green lite to fly further into the room where they stop, waiting about ten feet away from her. "I trust Pharasma will improve your luck today, Dariyia."

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Stops still for a moment to one side of the door voicing a quite prayer

cast detect magic focused down the stairs, towards the doors and whatever is behind them. If anything is detected he will pause to see what information he can gather from the spell

Detect magic is blocked by walls, but you get nothing from the room.

"Nothing of a magical nature up here guess we have to go deeper and see what we can find. The professor didn't mention anything about traps in here did he?"

"The spell can penetrate barriers, but 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks it" So we can assume that the doors are either metal, lead lined or at least a foot of stone??

Those limitations are likely true of any wall in a dungeon, but are certainly true here. The walls are stone, about a foot thick, and the doors are indeed metal.

Ionacu shakes his head. "Not that I recall, but we can't be too careful."

Female Changeling Ninja/1

"Right. I'll go first then." Dariyia slowly takes the front, scanning carefully as she goes.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

That perception roll gets you the spoiler at the top of the page.

male Human cleric lvl1: 325xp

Nervously runs his hand over the holy symbol hanging from his neck as he follows after Dariyia.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Dariyia glances down. "Well, no traps so far, but I also only see one set of tracks leading in and out." With that, she continues into the crypt.

If anyone has Survival (or just wants to take a crack at it), they can try to follow the tracks...

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Survival: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

Ooh! I'm a ranger! I have that!
Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Ionacu and Dariyia:
You can see the feint footprints in the dust lead towards one of the doors, disappearing underneath it and presumably continuing on the other side.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Dariyia cocks her head as she continues studying the tracks. "I think they just lead in and out of that door." With a glance at the others for some kind of confirmation, she goes over there and checks the lock.

Not locked.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

With only a moment's trepidation, the girl opens the door and peers in....

male Human cleric lvl1: 325xp

Follows with one hand on Sarenrae's symbol and the other on the hilt of his scimitar while he whispers another prayer.

another detect magic as the door opens to an new area.

Lily sends one of her ghostly balls through the doorway, illuminating a single room beyond. The room is large enough for everyone to fit into, with a plain sarcophagus on a raised dais at the far end. It is to this sarcophagus that the tracks lead.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Dariyia glances around, before crossing the room and heading towards the sarcophogas. "I think that's the spot."

male Human cleric lvl1: 325xp

Walks around the sarcophagus looking for any inscriptions or symbols to identify who or what might lie here besides the hoped for items.

The sarcophagus is completely nondescript, but a careful examination, and knowing what you're looking for, does reveal that it has been recently tampered with.

Lily walks up to the sarcophagus as well, taking a second to re-ignite her dimming lights.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Dariyia frowns gently as the party gathers around her. With one last quick glance about, she shrugs. "Here goes nothing." Gingerly, she tries to open the lid...

Well it certainly appears that this must be the place. And it is just as obvious that the professor did indeed leave something behind. Though there is no body in the sarcophagus, it is by no means empty. Laid out neatly in the interior are the following.

*12 arrows with what look to be silver etched heads
*4 sun rods
*6 flasks of holy water
*10 beautifully made arrows (Detecting as magical when checked)
*5 pale white arrows (magical)
*2 finely crafted arrows with prayers to Sarenrea etched into the shaft (magical)
*5 potions of cure light wounds
*2 potions of lesser restoration
*1 scroll of detect undead
*2 scrolls of hide from undead
*1 scroll of protection from evil
*A thin darkwood case decorated with an image of a scarab with a single eye glaring from its back—the same design that appears on one of the books in the professor’s collection.

The darkwood case is worth 50gp, and contains three objects of interest—a spirit board with a brass spirit planchette, and four iron and glass vials containing tiny, churning clouds of vapor. The vials sit
in velvet-lined indentations to the left of the spirit board and planchette, along with six empty indentations.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Dariyia's eyes widen at the scope of the 'haul' before she remembers the serious work it will be put to. "Okay, we got what we came for. Can we get out of here?" She starts to gather up the supplies, not waiting for help in identifying the various objects.

male Human cleric lvl1: 325xp

nods "Yes lets! we need to get somewhere where we can look over and organize our new supplies and then head out to our stakeout."

Ionacu nods, and looks about, watching everyone's back as the supplies are gathered.
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

As Ionacu turns about to keep watch he spots two enormous (relatively speaking) centipedes already approaching. Where they came from is anyone's guess, but they've managed to sneak right up to the party without being seen or heard.

Init for the surprise round please, Ionacu. Everyone else can roll init as well, but will not get a surprise round action.

Female Changeling Ninja/1

Dariyia emits a small shriek of surprise as the centipedes attack. She lashes out with her hands, amazingly tearing through the thin leather to reveal sharp claws.

Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Round 1 attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Round 1 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Dice provided because I may not be able to post again until tomorrow night.

Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

male Human cleric lvl1: 325xp

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Is a ranged touch attack just 1d20 or is it 1d20 plus dex bonus?

Ranged touch is a ranged attack, so you add your bonuses, and roll against their touch AC.
