The Little Game Master |
Just in case there's some confusion, everyone has been escorted from the inn so that the Nethysians can conduct their interrogation in private. No one is inside the inn except the wizards and the witness.
The Little Game Master |
PS: That's 200 XP apiece, and we're levelling up on the medium chart. I'm still going to choose your PC classes for you, however. Don't worry, it's not going to be too crazy or unexpected.
The Little Game Master |
I PM'd Oz, haven't gotten anything back, do we want to reopen recruitment? Maybe there's a few guardsmen/random townsfolk nearby who want to help with the search...?
The Little Game Master |
Alright, I'll open up two slots. That way, if/when Sera & Oz come back, we'll only have 5 players total.
The Little Game Master |
Feel free to chime in about the recruitment submissions. Gonna postpone gameplay until we get that figured out.
The Little Game Master |
I was going to close it on Tuesday.
Haha, yeah I forgot about Adepts being divine. It's addressed.
Taldo, you may have a vote, but I think, to be fair maybe we should stay in the recruitment thread until selection, eh?
The Little Game Master |
So that's a majority vote for Taldo, who should the other one be?
Don't worry about a well-rounded party, I'll see to that when we level.
Seraphina Newton |
I am down with Dominic as well. A bookish type is always good.
I could see him having an adventurous side, wanting to see if the stories he has read is true. And then getting into mischief due to it lol.
The Little Game Master |
Sounds good! With a majority vote, that means the winners are Taldo and Dominic. I will let them know!
The Little Game Master |
I'm assuming you both have business in the guard office, so you'll just walk up and volunteer since the captain has already asked. And I doubt the two of you have met before, especially since Dominic is a citizen and a magical tome purveyor. In fact, the two of you might end up harboring animosity toward each other, if anything.
I'm gonna wait on Dominic's alias before I get back to the gameplay.
The Little Game Master |
@Taldo & Dominic, something I didn't make clear in the recruitment. This was a verbal call to arms. Your characters happened to be in, or just outside the building when Captain Iyers called out. Also, this is a side mission and is not directly related to the main adventure.
It will serve well as your hook, however.
The Little Game Master |
Not a problem, Dominic. RL comes first. Just intro when you're ready. And be sure to read back a page or so, that way you can get a feel for how to work yourself in. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask first.
And my point was that there wouldn't have been time for the letter to be written, as the call had just gone out moments ago. Nor is it formal in any way, so it wouldn't make sense for a letter to be written, even if the lot of you have been standing there long enough.
Your excitement is welcome and I adored your intro, it just doesn't fit the story as it stands. Feel free to retcon. For instance, you could've been on your way to fill an order when you overheard, and since you know the victim, you run in to volunteer. Or whatever you think would role play better.
Taldo the Tanner |
Would it be ok if he explains that the sylph family told him about the boy disappearing and believing the captain would do the right thing; he gets the letter of permission and then goes to the captain hoping that they would be planning a "rescue"?
If not, when he hears the announcement he will get the captains attention and then run off to get permission then meet them on the way out of town.
I did not see a "public announcement" for a rescue party was it announced yet? Or am I really ahead of myself?
Not trying to make problems, Happy to adjust however fits best :)
The Little Game Master |
The Captain also turns, "Do you two...er...three," He corrects himself, seeing Oz, "Want to join us? We're short-handed, and I'm sure my men would rather spend their afternoon at their usual posts. There's a day's wage in it for you..."
It wasn't public, I just figured you'd overhear, and then he'd welcome the help. My bad. I like your hopeful proactivity story, that works quite well! Okay, let's get started!
The Little Game Master |
How about you keep it blank for now, and once you level up I'll let you retroactively choose that class as your favored. Or by all means choose your NPC class...pretty sure I'm not going to level you up in that, though.
The Little Game Master |
@Sera, sorry, but I edited my last post. Feel free to retcon if that changes anything, but if not, we'll just wait for Taldo! As for your spell, does that let it understand you or vice versa?
Seraphina Newton |
I can understand it, but it cannot understand me nor can I communicate with it. I would need to have the tongues spell cast.
I will delete my original post then repost with what I want when i get some time
The Little Game Master |
I almost forgot!
Everyone gets 100 XP for neutralizing the small air elemental! Make sure to keep track of your XP and let me know when you level up (I've got too much stuff going on to keep track of it myself).

Yes, you might recall:
"Not that we'd necessarily want to go through that way, but I seem to recall an archway and a door in the north wall of the torture chamber. Just so we have all the options in front of us before choosing." It's clear the Captain couldn't care less what they did, he was just excited to be out in the field again.
However, judging from his facial expressions and body language, it's clear that Chase still would like to leave as soon as possible.

I've come across a pbp guideline that I think might help us, tell me what you think.
I will (try to) be on here every day. If the story is waiting for you and you haven't posted in over 24 hours, I will bot you. If I have to bot you three days in a row, I will RP your PC out. That's not to say you've been kicked out of the game. You can still come back, we'll just need a good plot device (e.g. you fell over board and it took you this long to find your way back, etc.)
If two of you think this is a good idea, I'll go ahead and implement it.
