Beltin casts lead blades before heading upstairs. He can't really make out what's going on, but he knows a fight when he lip reads one.
As hostilities rise he calls upon the blessing of the metal.

He closes toward the battle AK 14

"That's what you think!" retorts the wee gnome. "We're from the Pathfinder Society! And we're not going to let you keep on doing what you're doing, no siree! So I strongly suggest you just run away! Jadrek, you tell 'em!"
Inspire (+1)!
Jadrek bellows loudly and charges into the fray! Charging C.

Beltin stops and knocks the side of his head with his fist for a few moments - he's suddenly developed a distinct, metallic ringing in his ears. He gets a sudden bolt of inspiration, and casts silence on a holy symbol of Idomedae, and then moves up close to Chau. He suddenly feels very peaceful.
Cast and move to AP14. Beware: silence 20' radius emanation, centered on Beltin's bottom right square.

Khamul nods in thanks to Enora as he moves further into the room (AO-20) and casts another spell at the beefy gnoll with the shield.

Khamul, there is a bless bonus on the scorching ray. your confirmation number is 12, not 11

I'm not all that familiar with witches, but isn't it -2 to AC /or/ attacks, not both?
Also, Khamul, Zirt is inspiring courage, which adds 1 to your attack and damage rolls with the ray.
Jadrek growls loudly in annoyance at the laughing monstrosity, squeezing his victim lovingly in bear fashion. Zirt squeaks angrily at the laugher. "Hey, you big fatso! Who're you laughing at? Your father must have married a... a... a big ugly monster, to have spawned something as ugly as you!" Cast lesser confusion on the witch. Will DC 16.

The chief shakes off Zirt's spell and shrugs off the bear's embrace. Jadrek fails to maintain. Truk and Enora!

DM Amazing Red |

Enora will chant, hindering Chau's defenses, which gives Jadrek the opening needed to maintain the grapple. -2 to AC.
Truk still misses with his headbutt though despite the advantage.
Chau continues to bash upon the bar.

Sorry, didn't realize we were on a new round after I cast spontaneous immolation. I think Khamul also should have been further up than he is on the map right now.

Note: I didn't include the -2 to attacks, because I'm not sure if that's still up. Also, if Truk is flanking, then please add +2 to the attacks above. He'd said he was, but isn't there on the map.

DM Amazing Red |

Khamul walks up, his cold touch staggering the witch before she is mowed down by a bar.
Combat over.
Among the books on the bookshelf are several hundred pages of notes written in a strange language.
These are al’Jakri’s scrying records, a cross-reference of the slaves whose blood samples are in the chest (and which noble houses they serve), and a timeline of specific events she observed while watching them—all written in her own shorthand and describing only a fraction of the observations suggested by her marked map of Absalom.
Perception checks?

Khamul cautiously casts detect magic and enters the room. "It seems our quarry has escaped, but we have at least uncovered her secret room. Come, let's explore so we can report our findings back to the Society."

![]() |

Did we miss something? Our goal was to get the spymaster and the mirror. The spymaster is gone, so we grab the mirror. The books and map are of course useful in lieu of the spymaster.

![]() |

Zirt finishes consoling her shaggy friend and comes over to examine the map with the others.
Knowledge (Local, Geography, or Nobility): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

DM Amazing Red |

With Khamul and Truk's help, Zirt is able to ascertain major patterns in the placement of pins and string suggesting al’Jakri has found ways to spy on not only a dozen Absalom families but also a large number of the city’s more prestigious institutions, such as the Forae Logos and the Arcanamirium. Decoding the map entirely would take days and would still rely on considerable speculation without additional data. Perhaps the society would be able to make sense of it.

![]() |

Well, we're leaving this room at least, since it seems fully explored. Pretty much the only thing to do would be for someone to try and operate the mirror. (Not a particularly Beltin thing to do, but maybe the noooome wants a go?)
We did pass by a wing of the complex, so we'll poke our head in there on the way out. And get as many slaves out as we can on the way out.
