Caerwyn Callandriil |
Not sure if this will work
As godfrey's feet begin to slip off the boats gunwale, Caerwyn will reach out a hand to steady him.
Aid Another: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Before climbing up himself.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Godfrey Warden |
Godfrey begins to flail his arms as if he were a giant bird about to take flight, attempting to gain his balance.
Reflex1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Those paying close attention might catch a glimpse of Godfrey's eyes flashing to a golden color much like the light reflecting of a dogs eyes.
My god, these dice are trying to kill me.
Masaru Haganekaze |
"That we can see," Masaru commented, nodding as he looked down to Kerri. "Come on, lets go see what we can find. You'd expect a ship wrecked vessel to have something valuable on it at least..." He began to walk the deck, looking to investigate getting into the lower levels of the ship that were not already washed out by the tide and filled with sea water.
Caerwyn Callandriil |
Caerwyn will stop Masaru before he begins his descent intot eh lower levels of the ship "Let me go ahead and scout it out, after all that's what I get paid to do."
Stealth check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Tanimoto |
Oh I forgot Tani has a +7 to perception
I pipe it. " I will scout ahead too. Stealth is second nature to me. I begin to creep ahead with Caerwyn care not to stay too close.
Stealth:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Kerri Corynian |
Seeing that Masaru is not going down yet, I quietly call out to Tani and Caerwyn, "I will come too, I am small enough not to be seen easily." I remain 5 feet behind Tani.
Stealth : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Perception : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
DM Mathpro |
Tani and Godfrey you recognize this ship as a Tian style ship. What its doing here, half way across the world from you're home you're not to sure of.
Tanimoto |
"I have the skills and tools for this sort of thing. A little rusty at it but I can give it a shot. Caerwyn if your any good with locks maybe you can help."
I have DD +5. Caerwyn I looked at your profile and it shows +7. If Dm allows I could assist.
Masaru Haganekaze |
"Ameiko is Tian," Masaru said, nodding as he looked to Godfrey. He waited with the man as their companions went ahead, quietly remaining behind with a handle on his hilt. "It could be her ancestor's vessel. I don't know how long her family had been in Sandpoint before her, so its hard to say."
Caerwyn Callandriil |
Caerwyn muses to himself as he examines the chest "There has to be a reason why the goblins left this one alone." He looks the chest over, examining it for traps before he tries to open it.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Unable to find anything out of the ordinary, Caerwyn reaches into his pack and pulls out a leather case. Untying the case he rolls it out on the floor, revealing an odd assortment of tools. Selecting one of them ,he inserts it into the chest's lock and begins moving it around inside the locking mechanism, listening intently.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 (add +2 if Tani is able to help)
Kerri Corynian |
I watch intently as Caerwyn pulls out his leather case and tools and even more so when He and Tani both start fiddling with the box. I also look very confused as what is going on, "How are they going to open that box with those? That can't be the shape of the key needed, can it? How would he know the shape of the key anyway?" I continue to watch on, trying to see how they will open it and without realising I start to hold my breath.
Tanimoto |
"Blasted creatures had their fun then moved on to terrorize more travelers. Seems this place is safe. I will head back and let the others know."
I return to Masaru and Gadfrey to report. "Ship is clean. Goblins must've simply dropped by and looted the place before their attack. Doesn't seem to be much else here so we should move on."
Marasu and Gadfrey would notice Tani is sporting a classy new hair clip.
Kerri Corynian |
I follow Tanimoto up to the deck again and this time remain on the deck. Taking in a deep breath of fresh air. I look to everyone on deck, "So, should we go to where the Goblins were rumoured to be camped now?"
Masaru Haganekaze |
"Where did you find that thing?" He gestures to his hair while addressing Tanimoto, referring to the hair clip. Once Kerri climbed back up he smiled and gave her a nod and expected Caerwyn to be climbing back up shortly. He glanced to Godfrey, still oblivious to the cross-dressing ninja's shenanigans.
Masaru Haganekaze |
"Well, lets be on our way then," Masaru says, moving back back towards their boat. He takes a knee to help everyone down into the rowboat. He offers his hand, bracing the other on the ship itself to keep his own balance.
Aid Another: Kerri 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 (Succcess)
Aid Another: Godfrey 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 (Succcess)
Aid Another: Caerwyn 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 (Succcess)
Aid Another: Tanimoto 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (Unsuccessful)
Everyone except Tanimoto has a +2 bonus on their Acrobatics check to make it successfully back into the rowboat.
Kerri Corynian |
Before getting onto the smaller boat again, I look over the surrounding water to see if I can see anything dangerous or any goblins.
Perception : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Acrobatics : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 (+2 added for Aid Another all ready.)
Taking Masaru's hand, I nimbly jump down into the boat, and find a small area to sit where I will not get in anyone else's way. When I land my jump, the boat hardly rocks at all.
DM Mathpro |
Okay after much prodding from Tani I'm going to move things along a little.
You guys make it back to the sore and Godfrey is able to find the track back to the swamp but you guys run out of daylight before you arrive at its far northern edge. You decide to make camp for the night. Feel free to role play as you wish but I'd like 3 watches to be made up.
Kerri Corynian |
Seeing that we are stopping for the night, I place my back-pack onto the ground and pull out a set of canvas and wooden poles. I struggle for about 5 minutes, until I have a tent put up for myself. It is a tiny thing and looks like it couldn't provide cover to anyone else.
I look about to see where everyone is and once I know where they are I quietly sneak behind some shrubbery to make water.
Perception (To make sure no-one is where I am going) : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Stealth (So no-one notices me leave) : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
I come back after a couple of minutes, trying to come back as quietly as I left. Once a fire is going (whether I make it or someone else makes it whilst I am setting up my tent), I look to the others. "I have some practice with cooking and am about to cook my dinner, would anyone else care to try some of my cooking?" I wash my hands quickly with some water from my waterskin and begin to start cutting some of my fresh herbs. "Does anyone have any meat, or able to catch a few rabbits? They would go well with these herbs."
Perform (Chef) : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
(Oh great! I probably made water right in front of everyone and everyone probably heard me stomp away from camp! Just my luck! But at least the food should be nice!)
Godfrey Warden |
After the camp has been made. Godfrey will sit down and make a fire for Kerri to use. It will be a low burning one as not to attract to much unwanted attention. He will pause and is willing to take any shift though during the night he will take residence up in a nearby tree for the night.
During the camp he will make small conversation and answer any questions directed at him. So what brought everyone to sandpoint?
Kerri Corynian |
During my preparation of the food, I look up to Godfrey, "This is a nice fire, not too hot and doesn't burn too fast. Hmm, what brought me to Sandpoint? I left my village and tribe of the Gronzi Forest and ended up in Sandpoint, I was trying to gain knowledge so that I could become the next and wisest Elder. It was just coincidence that I ended up in Sandpoint, which is where I met Ameiko. What about yourself?"
Tanimoto |
I listen in as we begin to set up camp. "I came from Minkai. I had to leave due to an unfortunate string of events. I travelled as far and as fast as I could. I was wounded severely and would have died had Shalelu not rescued me." I assist Kerri with dinner to the best of my abilites. "I fell in love with her. I work hard hoping to one day be a good wife to Shalelu."
Masaru Haganekaze |
After Masaru set up his tent, he wandered off away from the encampment without word with armor and sword. He felt he was at a comfortable distance away from the camp to hear them yell if something happened but I felt the compulsion to be alone. He wanted to train and so he took the time to move through sword drills. He cut the air with the naked steel of his blade, his body moving as he practiced his strikes that evening.
Kerri Corynian |
I look up at Tanimoto knowingly, "I'm sure you and Shalelu will make a lovely couple, keep at it. I have not found that special person yet. Thank-you for your assistance in the preparation of the food, maybe we could have some of that lovely smelling tea with it?"
Kerri Corynian |
Now that the food has finished cooking, I take out a small bowl and begin to place some of the food into it. "Dinner's ready, everyone help yourselves."
I sit next to my shelter and eat my food quietly. When I have finished I look up, "We should get some rest, I'm a little tired after using the Ancestor's powers and will need to get a long rest. But I can wake up early and keep an eye out in the morning, if that sounds fair to everyone?"
DM Mathpro |
The night passes uneventfully for the most part. Tani did think she saw something out in the forest, something large, but when she got up to investigate she couldn't find anything.
You wake in the morning and there is a fog in the area that seems to have rolled in off the ocean. You make breakfast and break camp to continue your way to the swamp.
Would post more but I'm running short on time...
Kerri Corynian |
In the morning I quickly wash myself down and re-pack my tent and gear, before grabbing some of the remaining food. On the way back I am quietly eating my food, admiring the fog but also struggling to see very far because of it. "Did you all sleep well?"
Masaru Haganekaze |
Masaru retires late after spending most of the evening away from camp before returning. He takes his watch which proves uneventful and wakes in the morning early. He rolls his shoulders and stretches, packing up his belongings and gets ready to get back on the road. "Well enough," he murmured, responding to Kerri as they set off.
