About Tanimoto

Tanimoto's Story:

The Beginning
He was born to one of the Tian regents as an illegitimate son. The "mother" had left the boy along with a note identifying him in the regents room one night. The boy caused quite an uproar as the regents wife had discovered the baby and note first. Outraged, the regent to the boy away. Rather than kill him, the regent turned the boy over to a ninja sect called the Shoji clan. There the boy was named Tanimoto and trained in the art of the ninja.
The Encounter
Tanimoto was the unfortunate victim of a plot against his clan. Members of the clan were being assassinated and killed off or framed left and right. Tanimoto was part of a group mission involving the assassination of a traitor. The lead they got took them out to Varsia and eventually to the lands of Korsova. While they were away, the clan had been attacked one final time and was destroyed by the government they had been serving. The six surviving warriors had reached the safe hold where the traitor stay hiding. Though he turned out to be better defended than they had anticipated. The battle was lost and Tanimoto was the only survivor, barely. He had sustained a severe injury and was barely clinging to life. He fled the traitor's group into the wilds just on the outskirts of Westcrown. In the wilderness he slumped against a tree. A faint glow shone on him and he began to see his life fade. Just as he was about to close his eyes and accept his fate, an angel appeared before him. As she grew closer and began to treat his wounds, he realized she was no angel, but an elven woman.
"Who are you?" He managed to ask.
"Yalana. Can you walk?" Yalana, the name felt like honey on his lips. He was able to stand and she carried him back to Westcrown.
"Please, I cannot be taken to a doctor. I need only to rest."
"But you are badly injured."
"I know, but you must trust me, I cannot see a doctor."
Yalana nodded and decided instead to take the boy to the to her family home where he began to recuperate. Yalana had nursed him back to health, visiting him frequently and bringing him several herbal remedies. Before long Tanimoto was able to walk. Once he was strong enough, he decided to leave. He left a note of thanks and a few coins on the bed and disappeared out the window in the dead of night.

The Return
Tanimoto returned to his homeland to find that the betrayal had done it's damage in spite of his teams sacrifices. His whole clan was hunted to the last man, namely him. He was now an outlaw running for his life. With no where to return to or anywhere to hide, Tanimoto was forced to flee his homeland. He knew there was only one place he could go and that was back to the land of Korsova and the city of Westcrown. He could think of no where else to go.

The The Second Flight
Tanimoto had traveled back to the city of Westcrown. It was no short journey but it was far enough away where he was sure no one would find him. Plus with his unique gift to disappear, he was sure no one would recognize him in this town. He had come here where he had hoped to see Yalana again. Once there however, he had few to no coin to his name. He ended up working as a secondary bartender at the inn. This didn't bother him too much as he was able to get a job in Yalana's town and get acquainted with its people.

The Life
Tanimoto posed as a barmaid in the tavern he worked and only the places fine owner Henry Stoutpour and his wife were allowed to get to know him. Even still, he didn't tell them everything about his trade or that he was really a boy. They were a good couple and it was a decent job. Tanimoto went by Tanya to all the bar goers in the place and would often behave very convincingly. When he would go out in the town, he would pose as an a middle aged woman name Aria. Changing appearances often was the way Tanimoto gained information about the town and could ask whatever he wanted without being easily recognized. His clever skill at dialect enabled him to dodge any incriminating topics and keep his identity a safe. As he grew more accustom to life here, he began his search for Yalana.

The Reunion
Finally Tanimoto was able to see Yalana again. He posed a a young lady named Rika when talking with Yalana and quickly became her close friend. It was at this time Tanimoto discovered that Yalana was engaged. More time had past and Tanimoto still held a fast friendship with Yalana and was pleased to here that she had been invited to be one of the bridesmaids in Yalana's wedding. It was a grand event and Tanimoto was glad for her. He was happy to know that the girl who saved him was also happy.

The Threat
With Yalana off of Tanimoto's mind, at least not an obsession anymore. He began to hone his ninja talents once again. Hearing rumors of shadow beasts that prowl the streets at night and wondering why the guards did nothing but slap fines on people made Tanimoto un easy. Truth is, Tani seldom went out after dark or mingled to deeply into the city affairs as he was more focused on Yalana. Now he slowly began to realize the sorry state this place was in. Tani was used to living in the shadows but now he realized that shadows in this place were even darker than he had ever known. Something was up. He had finally begun to form a happy existance her only to find out that this place had an evil shadow slowly devouring it. It was time to do something productive again. Tanimoto would dawn his Shinobi skills once again and find out what unseen threats lurked in his own domain.
