So, how you'll deal with this?

Fixing the fort will take some days, and the trails is already four days older (given the fact you’ll most likely leave only the next day after you arrived at the fort), are you leaving the locals as they are to track down the escaped bandits? Or you’ll make sure they are safe and the fort is repaired (and most likely lose the opportunity to track the enemies)?

Looking at the tracking rules, every day adds +1 to the DC to follow tracks, but larger groups are easier to follow: -1 to the DC for every 3 people. Horses (being large) are also easier: another -1 to the DC.

If Rendyl has the track ability, we might well still be able to follow the bandits back to their lair. I'm assuming they were in a reasonable hurry to get away and didn't try to hide their tracks, but the DC to follow e.g. 6 horses after a week across firm grassland would be 19, which is tough but doable with an Aid Another roll.

Garess just doesn’t feel like you can deal with the whole of bandits at the moment.
As usual, just do what you think it's best and we'll improvise.

Also you guys are assuming that whoever attacked the fort did so at the order of the Stag Lord (it's a good assumption because of the bandits).

On the Greenbelt Map, can you put Letters / Numbers on the grid so we can refer to Hex Z23, for example as where we wish to go / explore. Also, update the "quest" list to include that reference. I am confused (easy to do!) about what is what on the map.

Yep, the circle are the hexs you might find quest thingy.

Dark green are the Kamelands, and takes two days to explore each hex. Light green has no defined name AFAIK, and takes one day to explore.


I'll also add later the name of the stuff you already discovered.

He never saw anyone else other than Tegan. The attacks were on the middle of the night, and they shot flame arrows at the fort, while the bandits broke free. He is just blaming others by association. If the 'enemy' can take the form and appearance of one of you, what will prevent him(the enemies) from impersonating the other group?

OK, let's go find this bear, rescue April and then take down the bandits.

As we seem to be going bear hunting, Damiel has several options when we get close.

1) Haste on Rendyl or Vik. Concentration or 1 spell point for 2 rounds.
2) Slow on Bear. Concentration of 1 spell point for 2 rounds. Gets a will save.
3) Curse bear, -2 to hit, etc. for 3 rounds. Gets a will save.
4) Serendipity on party, +1 to hit for concentration.

Right now, Vik and Rendyl are the warriors of the group (no magic). Djebelle is healer/buffer, Hylaen is an alchemist, Tegan is a "blaster", and Damiel is a roguish/bard, ie. a little of everything.

Do you think he should affect the bear first (3 & 2 above), then help Rendyl or Vik (1 above), then help the group (4 above) or do the reverse. Either way, he is not much in combat, as long as he has to concentrate on either Serendipity or Haste / Slow.

Unfortunately I'm travelling with work for the next few days so posting will be intermittent.

Daniel: I prefer to buff (which always works) before debuffing (if a save is allowed) because if the debuff fails then you've lost the action, and it's better not to lose actions in the first few rounds of combat. Others may have different opinions!

I agree with Djebelle...best defense is a good offense and whatnot. :)

For any combat that doesn't start out in close quarters I would say put the haste on Rendyl (perhaps selfishly) because the more damage we can do before they close in, the better. Otherwise put it on Vik and then use Serendipity. That's my opinion, anyway.
