”The nostalgia of things unknown, of lands forgotten or unfound, is upon me at times. Often I long for the gleam of yellow suns upon terraces of translucent azure marble, mocking the windless waters of lakes unfathomably calm; for lost, legendary palaces of serpentine, silver and ebony, whose columns are green stalactites; for the pillars of fallen temples, standing in the vast purpureal sunset of a land of lost and marvellous romance. I sigh for the strange and hidden cities of this world, with burning brazen domes and slender pinnacles of gold and copper, that pierce a heaven of heated lazuli.”

Damiel: Serendipity - All allies within range gain a +1 luck bonus to attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws.
Assuming that I am across the chasm already....
Damiel provides a bit of serendipitous luck to the group, while drawing his longbow, and preparing to provide support to the two warriors.

Vik grunts as the trident pierce the man's arm and draw blood. Taking an aggressive stance, Vik strikes out at the boss.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Rendyl frowned at the close proximity of the mite leader and his strange mount, but dropped his longbow and drew out his longsword in a two-handed grip. Following up on Vik's more fluid attack, the ranger opts for the hack-n-slash approach.

longsword, serendipity: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24
Damage Crit: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 = 10

Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

Vik and Rendyl, since you didn’t explicitly said you are attacking the mite or the mount, I’ll consider vik taking down the leader and Rendyl attacking the mount. And sorry, I was sure I added the tokens to the map.

Rendyl Critical Confirm: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15
Djebelle Cling DC 5: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 4 = 0

Tegan seeing that she can’t provide any help from the backline this time, moves inside the chasm, climbing down easily and moving towards her allies at the front. Damiel continues to support his allies from the backlines, while Rendyl and Viklop dish out some damage at the mite leader. Djebelle moves towards the front line, to provide support as well, but unfortunately she falls down into the chasm, taking some damage.
Fall Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7

And, the mite leader didn’t prove to be that much of a difference from an ordinary mite, being brought down with a single strike from Viklop, which prompts Rendyl to attack the mount.

Notes-

Action-

With the mite leader dead, the other mites take tail and run yelling and screaming, but the mount seems frenzied at the death of its owner, and keeps attacking Vik relentlessly.
Atk: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Dmg: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

And misses spectacularly.

Everyone can post their actions, intentions?

Damiel Climb +0: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Damiel Perception; +1 for traps: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Damiel briefly thinks; perhaps I should haste Vik but then seeing the mite leader go down, he continues to provide the bit of luck to the group.

When the battle is over, he climbs to the other side of the fissure and looks at the table and sack. "Hold a moment" he suggests. "Is this the statute we are looking for?" and he then looks into the sack under the table.

Vik takes aim at the creature and unleashes a rapid attack in hopes of downing the monster quickly.

Round 2:

Tegan gets her bearings after the climb down. She turns to see get another mite, "it's an infestation!" She clinches and opens her hands as cool airs begins to swirl around her body. Snowflakes form and condense on the loose strands of her hair and collar of her traveling cloak. Then, she sends the force hurdling towards the enemy.

Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Frost Blast (bludgeoning): 1d6 ⇒ 4

Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

Rendyl continues attacking the creature with his word, trying his best to end the menace before him.
Atk: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

It takes the combined effort of the party to bring the mount down. Meanwhile, the other mites fled the battle, screaming on top of their lungs.

==//==

This room serves both as a war room and the den of the mite leader Grabbles. He’s created a relatively accurate map of the hexes that contain their lair and the Sootscale tribe—the sycamore tree is represented by a tangle of branches, the Sootscale cave by a pile of bloodstained rocks.

The ivory statuette depicts a crouching horned devil. This statue was stolen from the Sootscale kobolds—to the kobolds, the statue is a sacred relic and the focal point of their worship (they worship the statue as a mighty, winged kobold named Old Sharptooth).
The statue is nonmagical, but worth 250 gp for its craftsmanship.

The paper weighed down by the statuette is an accounting of the status of the war, as defined by key pieces of stolen treasure. Written in charcoal in Undercommon, the paper consists of two columns, one labeled “Us” and one labeled “Them.” The “Us” column lists only two things: “kobold statue” and “lots of spears and coins.” The “Them” column lists “magic dust,” “lots of coins” and “shiny human ring.”
The burlap sack contains the mites’ treasure, much of which has been looted from slain kobolds. Within are 12 Small spears, 193 cp, 120 sp, and 32 gp.

Damiel drops the Serendipity and inspects the table and the sack. "I guess this is the statue the kobolds are looking for. Can anyone read this paper?"

Rendyl breathes easier as the party (mainly Vik) take out the rampaging beast the mite had been riding, then proceeds with the others to the small cache of loot and the map. When Damiel asked if he could understand the writing, the ranger shook his head solemnly. Learning the reptilian language of the kobolds had been a hard enough endeavor for the young man...he didn't know if he could learn a third one. It might fill his head to bursting.

The lanky man gave the map an appreciative glance, as it seemed the mite leader had at least been trying to keep accurate representations of his neighboring lands. It seemed that there was likely little else to be gained here, and as Damiel had pointed out, they had the item they were sent to retrieve. One step closer to concluding this distasteful task. The ranger made ready to go, though he kept a wary eye out in case the remaining mites decided to gather their courage and counterattack.

"Well this ugly statue seems to be what the Sootscales were looking for. Now, do we hunt down the survivors and destroy this colony twig and root, or just leave now that we have what we came for?"

CG Male Human rogue 13 Archetype(Scout) / Trickster 5

"I would say we should just leave. Hopefully they have learned their lesson and will behave."

Tegan shakes her head, the few escaped silky strands jostle with the movement. "No, I can't read it."

Viklop "Vik" Kolavar wrote:

"Is there anything else to explore? I suppose we should follow the escaping mites. It's probably an exit." And I won't have to climb up that ridge again. Tegan presses onward to what she assumes is the exit. See map.

Rendyl nodded his agreement with Damiel, though he shrugged nonchalantly at Tegan's suggestion. "Possibly...and the more we know about the place, the better, should we have to return." After all, if these lands were going to slowly be settled, sooner or later the mites would have their territory intruded upon. They'd either get along, or have to be forced into submission. The ranger sheathed his sword and brought out his bow again, ready to continue upon the suggested path.
