A Mission of Mercy

To add to the ravages of a brutal civil war The Schaler Trivarium must also now suffer a terrible plague. You have accepted a mission to deliver a vital supply of much needed serum to the system. Delivery of the serum and other much needed medical supplies to an awaiting hospital ship, it should be an easy mission.
Male Human Pilot
Anson continues to move down the room, looking through the slatted wall.
So Dr., you declare first and go last. Right now you've got an enemy directly in front you, and behind you, across the room.
Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)Skills: Art 0, Carouse 0, Computers 0, Deception 0, Language 0, Life Science (Biology) 1, Medic 2, Persuade 1, Steward 0, Survival 0, Trade 0
Blast 'em! She fires on the individual directly in front of her and seeks cover behind one of the columns.
AuF: Backing up to D, while blasting away at MQ.
AnF: Making a circuit of the room.
MQ: ?
EB: ?
Taking another shot at the Doc before she ducks and covers.
All right. MQ, AuF, lets have some rolls. No modifiers.
EB?
I think AuF is still in range is she not? If so, I will take a shot at her.
2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
woohoo
3d6 - 3 ⇒ (1, 3, 3) - 3 = 4
Indubitably Never 3d6
Attack
2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Damage
3d6 - 3 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) - 3 = 5
VR revolvers do 2d6 dmg.
dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 .
-1 for the Dr's jack, is still enough to render the Dr. unconscious. Which, in terms of the VR game, means her character blips out of existence.
Sorry Doc! (I hope she doesn't bear a grudge when MQ and EB) show up in the infirmary.
All the remaining characters in the game get a +1 raise to a skill of their choice.
MQ, do you want to take a -1 shot at EB?

Nertz. Ah, well. They'll be apologizing sooner or later. ;)
Lots and lots of painful, medical and diagnostic tests might be in their future.

What is the ship policy on pets aboard? Aurora would love to have a cat...
Its up to the captain.
Provided he agrees:
Ship's Cat
Str 4 End 4 Dex 10 Int NA Edu NA Soc NA
DM: Str & End -1. Dex +1
Skills: Athletics (coordination) 2, Investigate 2, and Stealth 2.
Can I get a shot off at MQ?
EB: Hold up. You took out AuF. Then MQ gets to shoot, and then AnF slips along the wall. So you can't actually fire until the next round.
Male Human Pilot
Who is the captain?
Am I close enough to shoot MQ through the slatted wall? If not, I'll get close enough to the wall to do so THEN shoot.
And ... am I close enough to pillar D to get to cover before these cats start blasting at me?
Assuming I haven't spotted AnF, but am aware of the danger.
At EB 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 3d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 2, 5) - 3 = 10
MQ: That's a miss. Attempt a Recon (skill of 0) check at -1 to notice AnF's approach (you've been a little distracted with the Dr.'s rush and now EB).
AnF: Since you're the pilot I guess that makes you the 'Captain.' And you pretty need to be right up against the 'wall/fence'.
Male Human Pilot
Wooh. Also, pets are a-okay with me on board as long as they're taken care of properly.
I'll use my +1 raise on Gun Combat (Slug Pistol) for use with the revolver.
Anson moves right up against the wall/fence.
All right, turn 6 (?).
EB: fires at MQ.
MQ: Attempts to check for 'situational awareness': if successful will, I assume, try to position himself so he isn't a target for both EB and AnF.
AnF: will move up to the wall fence and shoot MQ, if MQ is still a viable target.
MQ: You don't see AnF creeping up to the wall/fence. Are you going to move up to D. or sidle over to F.
EB: You can take a shot against MQ.
AnF: You take position against the fence, and can fire against MQ. I'll give you a +1 bracing modifier for using the fence for support.
MA and EB: don't forget the +1 raise to a skill of your choice.
Male Human Pilot
Shooting Revolver: 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 + 1 = 8
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
Anson braces himself against the fence, sticks his revolver through one of the slats and lets a shot loose at MQ.
Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)Skills: Art 0, Carouse 0, Computers 0, Deception 0, Language 0, Life Science (Biology) 1, Medic 2, Persuade 1, Steward 0, Survival 0, Trade 0
Whoot! Everyone welcome Wingnut aboard. He's a grey and black tabby. He has free reign of the ship, but normally resides in Aurora's room.
shot at MQ 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 6) + 1 = 11
Damage: 3d6 - 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 5) - 3 = 6
EB: VR revolver damage is 2d6. damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 .
MQ: You're reeling. You get an action, before AnF zaps you.
Best to go down shooting then. Moving towards D, shooting at EB.
attack: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
MQ: Staggering forward, you wildly shoot at EB, before being blasted from behind by AnF.
So AnF and EB are the last two players in the VR game. They also get a +1 skill bump (in the VR game).
EB, you're down to three shots in your revolver.
Male Human Pilot
Anson will put it in Stealth. Did he manage to see Eli's shot so he knows what direction he's in?
Anson grins with satisfaction as Qorin goes down. He moves up to Pillar G, staying quiet and out of sight.
can we get an updated map...not too sure where I ended up!
Eli will stealthily move from pillar E to D
2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
Am I right to assume we do not use our actual skills, but rather default levels of 0?
Yes.
But you get a +1 skill bump, to spend as you see fit; each time someone gets eliminated in the VR game.
So you have 2 points to spend.
well I think I am going to place them into gun skill..lol
AnF: You have a rough idea of where EB was when he fired, but only approximate.
Male Human Pilot
Stealth: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5) + 1 = 10
Anson quietly moves from his position next to the wall to take cover behind pillar G.
So you both crouched besides your respective pillars, waiting.
I am going to quietly move clockwise around my pillar and then move towards pillar G
2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
Male Human Pilot
I wait, listening for movement and the direction it's in.
Recon: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
EB: You get to G.
AnF: You fail to hear his stealthy approach.
This is a 'Real World' game posting
So, a 'sensor signature' of the Luis Wu has been recorded, and sent ahead by courier drone, to the Schaler Trivarium system: the system is under an imperial interdiction, and you don't want to be mistaken for a gun-runner or smuggler by the Imperial picket ships.
Your cargo is medical supplies. Mostly the serum that is only effective medical relief for those suffering from the later, terminal stages of the Schaler Neurological Disorder (SND).
You're to deliver the serum to the Dr. Harry Reynolds hospital station.
While there Dr. Feldspar will get briefed on their ongoing efforts to contain and identify the origin of SND.
All and all a routine mission.
'Real World' Posting
Oh, you have been inoculated against the SND, though the vaccine has only recently begun testing in human subjects.
Male Human Pilot
VR World
Anson rushes out of the pillar, revolver ready.
Heading out of G, going northeast to D unless I see EB first, in which case I fire at him or continue running if I can't fire.
