There is also the 'Wild Stalker' Ranger archetype that replaces the combat style and favored enemy stuff with some barbarian flavors. It would be less being a super skilled hunter and more of being a wild animal. Of course, you don't get rage until 4th level.
Hmm, that's a good one too, hadn't thought of that either. :) Again, radically different from the existing ranger in the party.
Less worried about the whole rage thing.

Honestly, aside from losing Trapfinding, the ninja seems to be the better rogue on every front. Not only does it get access to all of the rogue talents, but it also gets its own new talents that are unavailable to rogues and a ki pool that does lots of things(and stacks with the monk ki pool).
On the scouting front, you eventually get your own modified version of trackless step and you can walk on any solid surface. The capstone ability is pretty sweet too, but we'll probably never hit level 20, let alone the level 23 that you'd need to get it.
I haven't looked over the Wild Stalker, but a Qinggong Monk could be interesting. You'd get the Wuxia/Dragonball vibe even more than the ninja does. And it's still radically different from the Martial Artist.

mdt |

Actually, only level 21. The 3 racial hit dice only count as 2 levels now, and 1 level after 4th level. Mainly because they don't give any nifty super abilities, and average hp per level.
A refluffed Ninja is looking pretty good. Only advantage of going the manuever master/quijoing monk route would be the feral combat training and doing monk unarmed damage with bite/claw/claw.

To be fair, of the two divine casters we have, one is an inquisitor and the other is me. The inquisitor has a very limited spell selection, and I'm going to be trying to play as a battle cleric rather than a controller/support cleric. My Wis is so low that I couldn't even attempt to play in the bad-touch/debuffer role.
So while I may have excellent spell selection and variability, I'm going to be primarily focusing on self-buffs and the like. When I have group buffs available I'll use them, but right now that just means Bless.
Wylliam, the only reason I have Enlarge Person as a spell is because of my domains. Otherwise, it's arcane-only.

Scath Lynx |

My biggest issue playing a spellcaster (especially a divine one) is I have a hard time fitting a lynx's mentality into worshiping anything other than himself. :)
If I were going to go spellcaster, I'd probably do Witch. If for no other reason than to have the image of the Lynx and a Raven staring at each other every morning to weird people out. :)
Besides, he's only got a 13 wisdom and 5 cha, any wisdom or cha based spell casters are right out. And I don't see him trudging around with a spell book on his back. So for spellcasting we're down to Witch or Sage Sorcerer.

Scath Lynx |

Go rogue full man, I think it's your best option. Get their necks!
If I do this, I'll probably head Ninja refluffed as supernatural hunter. :)

Trusk, the Warchild |

Yea, you kind of screwed yourself on the casting stats for anything other than witch and wizard.
I'd say that ninja would probably be your best bet at this point. You could still go monk, but that low Wis will hurt you there a bit.

Scath Lynx |

Yep, although a single level dip could be useful for the plus 1/plus 2 AC boost and save boosts.

Trusk, the Warchild |

You'd only get that AC boost if you weren't wearing any armor though. If you go rogue, you're going to want some armor of some sort. A 17/18 AC isn't going to cut it for long. You're going to end up wanting to get a mithril chain shirt or at the very least masterwork studded leather.

Scath Lynx |

You're assuming we can find someone to make mithral chain shirt or elvish chain barding for a lynx. :)

Trusk, the Warchild |

True. But at least with studded leather it's a) commonly available, b) cheap, and c) only has a -1 ACP. We may have to find someone to make it as barding for a small creature, but riding dogs are just mediums so I don't think that's a problem. We'll just get them to hem it in a little bit.

Scath Lynx |

Or could go with bracers of armor, worn around the forelegs. Then a level dip in monk actually works to advantage.

Scath Lynx |

I think an amulet of mighty clawing and bitey bitey is what Scath really needs though. :) It's ok if you have low AC if you also have massive to-hit and damage. :)

Scath Lynx |

Amulet should be easier to commission than a custom set of Lynx barding. :) And being wondrous items, any bracers should auto-adjust to fit even the lynx. As to cost, well, I'm afraid I'm going to be short on the usual list of things to spend money on, so I'm not too worried about it.
Head
Headband
Neck
Body
Armor
Feet
Wrists/Forelegs
I might be able to wear one ring if the GM let's me wear it as a tail-ring. No weapons though, given no hands to grip them. So, basically, looking at 7 slots (possibly 8) to spend wealth on. No cloak either, so not sure how I'll get my save bonuses or physical stat bonuses. Maybe the GM will be nice and let me combine all those into a custom enchanted harness on the body slot. More expensive obviously, mixing multiple enchantments in one item.

Alexis Carevin |

Well, you got ears where earings could go, and the tail slot could make up for the lack of a garment...

Scath Lynx |

Earring's would be good, as long as they didn't clink or whatever and spoil the sneakyness.
I just had a thought, apparently the GM's ISP is acting up again, and this is a golden opportunity to deal with the Zombies! With the GM unable to control them, they're basically helpless.
Now, we could Coup-de-gras them, but where's the fun in that?
I think the group should race back to town, buy out every pastel sundress, parasol, and lace hat they can find. Also cheap lipstick and high heels. Then, return and while the GM is gone, dress the zombies in sundresses, hats, and parasols. Put the heels on, and use the lipstick on their snouts.
Then when the GM returns, the zombies will attack with their parasols rather than polearms, and once they realize how they're dressed, they'll die of embarassment without us having to do anything else. :)

Scath Lynx |

He posted Monday in the other thread saying he was having ISP problems.

Trusk, the Warchild |

Ah. Hope they get fixed soon, though to be honest I haven't done much posting of my own this week. My time has been getting eaten up by sitting in a tree, being cold, and missing shots at deer because I didn't take time to practice my archery earlier this year.

Scath Lynx |

Sounds like you had fun, even if you didn't get any deer for it.

Alexis Carevin |

You go with the wrong feats, you miss ^_^
Try to get Point-blank shot when you get to level 3!
Btw are we doing the dress-them-as-ladies thing?

Scath Lynx |

I think we should. :) That will teach the GM to get a better ISP. :)

Scath Lynx |

Hmm, ok, so it's been a week. Do we assume the GM got eaten by a bandersnatch?

Trusk, the Warchild |

Scath Lynx |

At least all the players are still here. Hopefully he will come back soon, if he doesn't, I guess we can try to find someone to take it over in a week or two, if everyone is still interested. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Alexis Carevin |

I don't think we can find a replacement GM, this is a homebrew, isn't it?
Anyway, let's hope for the best.

Scath Lynx |

Oh I do hope he comes back, he's very entertaining so far. :)
But as for homebrew, if he doesn't, we weren't very far into it, so it wouldn't be hard to use it as a starting point and run with it if we found another GM.
Hopefully we won't have to.

Alexis Carevin |

Well, I've been looking for my missing child for about 34 days now, so I need to say I'm not on a lucky streak... But let's pray, brothers!

Trusk, the Warchild |

Hey Scath, now that the Adavanced Class Guide playtest is out maybe you can convince the GM to let you test out one of the new classes. Hunter or Slayer would probably be good choices for you.

Scath Lynx |

Yep, that would work. Slayer that is. Hunter possibly as well, although I don't think I want to play a cat with an animal companion. :)

mdt |

Well, if it get's to 14, I can pick up and run the combat while we look for a new GM. I'm running a game already on here, but I could swing picking up a new one if I had to. Good group of players, would hate for them to fall apart.

Eva Elsington |

I see it's hauntingly silent here as well.
