Pbp is fun. that being said there is something missing, that you get with table top. i do agree that it lets you roleplay better and think thru your actions.plus voicing thoughts is pretty cool too. but i also like the tactical parts you get with flipmats and mini's. The group i last Dm'd for in Joplin, MO were a lot of fun. One player would get with his wife ( who did not play)and paint mini's by request specific to your character. another would look at the mini's coming out and try to make ones specific for the AP we were in.
Been playing a long time..started when i was 12 in '83. started DMing in '89 and mostly did that thereafter with some short campaigns or one off's to play.
Yeah, there's a lot of good to be said about interpersonal, face-to-face, tabletop gaming. This is a lot more convenient, generally speaking, and allows for a little more roleplaying and creativity, but there's still nothing quite like gaming right there in person.

It's fairly common knowledge that Dunstone was the largest and most populous settlement before the famine, and probably one of the oldest in the world. It had been the center of civilization, so to speak, since the first flood wiped out all the towns not in an elevated location. Dunstone had already begun to experience a slow decline after the earthquake the people call the Broken Ground, but was completely abandoned after the chaotic times during the famine.

Haiku has to appear before he can remove anyone, and that seems to be the problem. I for one am figuring Haiku has just run into real life trouble and will hopefully be back in time. When that happens we'll have to see what the status of the game is and how many players are left. That being said, I think I'd be willing to keep going. Let me know, Haiku.

if he has run into real life trouble then he should have the courtesy to state such in the ooc and not leave the group in limbo.
I personally was excited to take this character places, so yeah, if he comes back I'd like to keep playing. However, I do kind of agree with Brine--it'd be nice to know what's going on.
Having run into IRL trouble and been unable to post for long periods myself, though, I'm inclined to be forgiving.
