CL 6, 7 evocation, DC 15 + spell level + 1 evocation. (*=Evocation)
Cantrips; 4 At will. Detect Magic, Detect Undead, Ray of Frost* (1d3+2), Read Magic

3rd 3+1; Dispel Magic, Fireball (7d6+2, DC 19), Haste, Wind Wall* (80ft long, 35ft high, 8rnds, DC 19).
Peitry makes himself as comfortable as he can on the hard ground after eating a meal of dry bread and canned beans with his spellbook in his lap. Sitting quietly for about an hour he traces his finger along the pages of his book, muttering to himself alternately with his eyes open or closed. Finally, after the hour is done, he gets up and removes his leather coat before walking among the party members and casting endure elements on them all and finally himself.
Donning his coat again he backs up his stuff and indicates he is ready to head out.
Edit; Jin, it's class level hp per hour for non-lethal dmg so it's 6 time 8 for a total of 48 NL healed for the lot of us.

Sirhan |

Sirhan would have also CLW everyone before bed and then let the natural healing take care of the rest.
After getting up Sirhan sets up his armor and weapons then kneels in front of them praying to them, then he gets them on.
"Thank you Peitry"

Crissor Salem |

Since Pietry just took care of our endure elements need I'll prepare
Create Water
Cure Light Wounds
Dang guys food is a problem for our horses, probably not alot they can graze on here.
"Thank you Pietry now let me help some as well."
Casting Create Water which is 12 gallons so that should cover hydration for us the horses
Crissor creates water to refill waterskins and help the horses drink, using the pans of his cooking kit to hold water as need be.

Kenan Borjigon |

Thanks Peitry.
Sirhan, when we cut grass for our horses, do you think you could clean it from taint?

Sirhan |

"i Will try with the spell I have to see if it will work on the grass, that is not normally food."
@gm would purify food and Drink spell cleanse the grass of taint so we can feed it to our horses?

Jin Takashi |

In any case we have enough feed for a day or two, Crissor will have to prepare that spell tomorrow. At least the horses and you all have fresh water. Once everybody is ready, we can continue on and may the gods favor our hunt this day.

rogarson |

Sorry about the weekend everyone my wife had to go to the hospitatl on friday and she just got released yesterday, she is fine now thank goodness, I apologize I didnt come on and tell every one
Hopefully we can find a place for them to graze. soon, looks to jin aye may the hunt go well indeed

DM Jelani |

Rogarson, glad the wife's okay. Good to have you back.
You can change your spells to include mount Peitry.
There's plenty of grass for the horses to graze on, but you're unsure of the effect it would have on them. I'll assume that's what's happening for now. If Crissor wants to purify the grass he can.
After some time everyone is ready to journey onwards. The group forms up into a mounted formation again, and thanks to Peitry's magic the journey is much more comfortable today, despite the continued heat. Throughout the morning, as you make your way south the amount and thickness of the grass covering the ground increases until by midmorning your horses are shoulder deep in demonic prairie.

As you are riding along everyone except Peitry spots two large birds crouching in the grass on your flanks just before they charge forward screeching angrily. They have short stunted wings and mangy black feathers. The skin on their long thick legs is blood red. Their heads are bald like vultures, also covered in blood red skin. Their large jagged beaks resemble axe heads, and you can see the primitive rage burning in their beady black eyes.

The grass can be used as cover for making stealth checks, or if you go prone against ranged attacks. It is not difficult terrain.
It'll be Knowledge (Nature) or Knowledge (Planes) to identify these bad boys.

Jin Takashi |

@DM that's cool. Jin is riding a horse Keenan bought. The donkey is a pack animal.
Jin and Dur Dagnir both get an inkling they have heard of these things before.

I can try knocking them out if we wish to capture them...

Crissor Salem |

Oddly enough Pallys don't have the Purify food and Drink spell.
At the site of the birds Crissor, pulls out his composite longbow, move actionnotches an arrow, and focuses on the strange bird (# 2), and it's features. detect evil, counts as move action
"I don't believe we are going to have that luxury Jin."

Knowledge Planes 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Sirhan Draws his bow moving into range toward bird 2 and readies his shot to see what the bird does.

DM Jelani |

It's cool man, sh*t happens. Just giving fair warning to everyone. Peitry and Sirhan know the same things about these birds that Jin's sword does. Sirhan also knows they are often resistant to magic.
Edit:Totally forgot Crissor's initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 and Perception1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 to see if he acts in the surprise round.

Initiative 21
Sirhan draws his bow and readies an arrow. You are already well within range, I'll move you into point blank range though.

Kenan rides over to guard Peitry, also drawing his bow.

Jin do you still want to cast the hex? You'll have to either cast defensively or provoke an AOO.

Jin Takashi |

If you check the hex rules SUPERNATURAL abilities do NOT provoke. So hell yes, use the hex!
Jin is knocked down and badly gored by the bird, but holds his nerve and releases the magic

Initiative 6
With a mighty screech another giant bird comes diving out of the sky. It somewhat resembles the others, but it has a four or five meter wingspan and is a bright pink and blue color. It's feet more resemble talons than its land bound friends. It swoops past Jin's fleeing horse, biting at its neck.

Crissor's Ride check to control mount 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Success but it costs a move action, so you only get one attack.
Managing his panicking mount takes some of Crissor's concentration but he manages to get a shot off at the bird on the south flank. Invoking the power of Erastil the arrow sparkles with a verdant green light as it streaks into the bird's chest causing it to squawk in surprise.
Initiative 21
Sirhan is having much more trouble controlling his horse, in fact that's all he's managing to do for now.
Kenan, your action.

Kenan Borjigon |

Patience, Patience. Here in Germany the sun mercyless beats down. I just came home from an extremely stressful day. Which is hardly surprising when occupied as an air conditioning technician during such weather conditions
After he challenged him, Kenan shoots 3 Arrows in swift succession at the bird near Sirhan.
Arrow 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

If the bird dies before all arrows hit him, the next arrows will be shot at the flying bird (150ft) witch would be at -3 Attack and -5 Damage
If this bird attacks me, he has +4 on his attack till he hits me for the first time.

DM Jelani |

Round 1
Initiative 11
Kenan's three arrows strike home in a triangular pattern just below the bird's left wing. It reels in momentary pain squawking and blinking rapidly.
Initiative 10+
The bird lashes out at the only thing in reach, Sirhan.

Talon 1 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Talon 2 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
The blows screech harmlessly off his armor.
Okay, Rogarson and Jin can act.

Jin Takashi |

Jin gets up (move action) and assess what's before him, drawing his bow as he does. The bird closest to him was down for the count and the one attacking Serhan was too far for him to hex and looked about to die anyway. The bird in flight however WAS still a threat. Using an arcana point to empower the bow,
He READIED a shot, triggered when the bird comes within bow range (110ft.)
Come on Bird, Steady....

Sirhan |

Asking before my turn comes back, was hoping Sirhan could dismount and attack, what say you GM. not sure if roll are involved were he is just barely controlling the horse.

DM Jelani |

Initiative 10-
Knowledge nature doesn't give anything new on the flying bird.
Rogarson readies to defend himself should the flying bird attack.
Initiative 9
Jin stands up and readies himself to hex the bird.
Initiative 6
The bird banks, and coming in on another long diving swoop goes for Sirhan.
Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Sirha ducks the bird's bite.
Peitry you're up.
@ Sirhan - Dismounting is a move action, but it would leave your mount riderless and it would flee.

Furrowing his brow he tries to recognize the birds features, assessing it's streangths and weaknesses, but finally just sighs and, making, adjusting himself in the saddle of his motionless mount, begins chanting.
Arcane Spell Failure 10% 1d100 ⇒ 72

Peitry recognizes that this bird bears many fiendish traits, more than the others. It must be half-fiend. Such creatures have numerous immunities and resistances.
