Loot: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Will get the new stats up for my char in the next few mins

Tomb

Dernaras recovers some usless junk, dented clubs, notched short swords etc.

Dante does manage to find a working healing potion. Standard action, heal using a recovery + 1d8 max 30.

While Arayas manages to find a Potion of Cold Resistance. Standard action: for 5 minutes/battle, cold attacks need a natural 16+ on you or they only do half damage.

and an Oil or Armor. Quick action, armor gives an extra +1 ac for 5 minutes/battle, does not stack with magic armor.

Feel free to swap around your guys stuff if desired.

What is your plan for today?

Female Half-elf Fighter 5 [ HP 104/104 | AC 23 PD 20 MD 18 | Recoveries 2/4 | Init +8 | Effects: none ]

Hm... do we want to follow the map and try to figure out where these guys were headed? Or try to find their allies? Or perhaps both?

Female Half Elf, [HP 48/48 | AC: 16 PD 16 MD 14] INIT +4 [Recoveries: 3/3] Ranger Level 4

Well I think the strongest lead we have is the map. Your character also seems like she'd want to follow up with that.

Female Half-elf Fighter 5 [ HP 104/104 | AC 23 PD 20 MD 18 | Recoveries 2/4 | Init +8 | Effects: none ]

Indeed, but we need to find the kidnapped woman... perhaps the paths will converge. Whatsay we head out following the map, and keep our eyes open for signs of the rest of the gang?

Female Half Elf, [HP 48/48 | AC: 16 PD 16 MD 14] INIT +4 [Recoveries: 3/3] Ranger Level 4

Agreed. We'll rest up, get our supplies together and get going. Dante, anything you want to add?

Following the map is the best idea we've got. I'm also thinking that they are keeping Lady Smallwood in some sort of shelter, so we'll likely want to lay low and watch the shelter for awhile, in order to see how many of them are there before we head inside.

Tomb

Alright, the party packs their stuff up in the morning. It is still icy and cold out but the map provides good guidance.

It's snowy montage time again. Describe an obstacle your party encounters but overcomes etc.

We're gonna need a montaaaage...

Around mid-day, our intrepid adventurers encounter a large frozen pond. The party can attempt to cross it, or go around, which may risk springing hunters' traps.

Arayas pushes her way to the front of the group, glancing at the map then at the pond.

"I don't like the looks of that... let's go around."She says with some hesitation.

Moving along the shore of the pond, she comes to a hidden trap, poking it with her spear. The rusted teeth of the trap clamp together.

"Some sort of bear trap."Arayas mumbles under her breath.

After a few more kilometers the group comes to the burnt out remnants of a small lodge. Approaching it we can see the outline of some sort of large beast in the rubble, feeding on what appears to be dead livestock...

[ooc]Kilometers? We use the metric system in fantasy worlds right? :P[/b]

"Carefully..." cautions Dernaras, leading the way quietly around the lodge. When they're well clear she breathes a small sigh of relief. "Those are vicious creatures, and do not enjoy being disturbed. It's well that we were able to avoid it."

Four or five miles farther, the group is faced with a man-high tangle of thorny brambles spreading throughout the forest, directly in their path.

Dante scratches his chin, wondering how anyone could pass through such an obstacle. After a minute or so of looking around, he looks upwards at the trees.

"Do either of you have any rope?" he asks.

Dante devises a way for the group to use the tools they have to scale a particular tree, then make their way to a branch of another tree, and so on, until they're over the thorn barrier.

Tomb

Your guys descriptions and stuff are awesome!

After avoiding the bear trap at the pond and not waking the creature at the burnt out lodge Dante leads the party up and over some frozen brambles.

As you continue to gain in elevation, heading to the cabin where you hope Lady Elizabeth Smallwood is being held, the air grows thinner and colder.

Eventually you come to the shore of a frozen lake. In the distance you see a ruined carriage, much like the ones you were in when you first woke up here.

As you get a little closer you see several creatures scavenging through the wreckage. Before you can assertain if they are friend or foe, the biggest among them sniffs and looks in your direction revealing a hideous green face and rotting teeth.

Spilling out of the Yeti's guts are several undigested items of interest...

An arrowhead of lethal striking, that with a few minutes work could be remounted. +1 Crit Range and does an extra 1d10 damage on a hit. (works once)

A Ring of Resilience Recharge 6: Swift action to heal using a recovery.

During your short rest, you all are welcome to choose an incremental advance.

Advance choices:

Feat: Choose a feat. For the purposes of this feat, your level is one higher than normal.

Hit points: Your maximum hit points increase as if you were one level higher. (If you’re presently damaged while midadventure, your current hit points increase by the same amount.)

Magic item: You can wield an additional magic item as if you were 1 level higher.

Power or spell: Choose a single power or spell that you could take at your next level.

Skills: Add +1 to all skill checks.

Talent: If your class gains a new talent at the next level
(ranger and paladin at 5th and 8th, for example) you can take that
talent as an incremental advance at 4th or 7th level.

I wouldn't mind the ring, but I've also already got that ability 1/battle - is anyone else eying it? Gonna vote we give the arrowhead to Arayas.

I think for the incremental advance I'll go with the feat Further Backgrounding, putting the points into Ret. Colonel and mushroom thief.

Rally: 2d10 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9
HP now 47/48, recoveries now 6/9.

Dernaras studies the ground around the carriage, trying to determine if it was stopped by the same type of foul undead creatures that caused the crash of her own. On one side of the wreckage, she finds a number of tiny footprints leading up to and away from the carriage. What's this... she wonders, staring at the footprints and ignoring the flutter of a yellow scarf caught amidst the smashed wooden conveyance.

Dante can make use of the ring.

For the incremental advance, he doesn't get any more powers at 3rd, but he has access to 3rd-level ones, he'll swap out his Deadly Thrust power for the much-anticipated Slick Feint.

"I wonder who was the owner of this," Dante mentions, carefully retrieving the yellow scarf from the wreckage. "But first, are you all right, Dernaras? That beast landed some nasty blows there."

Dernaras nods. "Too big to dodge effectively, but I'll be alright. Thank you. Foruntately an old comm...panion of mine taught me a method of relieving pain from a torn shoulder joint."

Her eyes flicker over toward Arayas as she hesitates on "comm", but she recovers quickly and nods toward Dante's find. "What's that? It's not the missing woman's, is it?"
