Divine Bond / Mount Class Feature

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I have a boon (Mounted Tradition) that allows me to use a special mount matching my race.

If you have the divine bond or mount class feature, instead of choosing an animal companion from the list provided in the class description, you may instead call a mount from the list below so long as you are a member of the corresponding race.

Based on that wording I am guessing animal companion (such as from a druid / hunter) does not qualify, which makes me sad because I totally had a character concept I wanted to play with as a druid.

So help me out here. Paladin, Cavalier, and Samurai. What else would qualify to use this boon?

Divine Commander Warpriest, Shoanti Burn Rider Barbarian, or Mounted Fury Vigilante

With some room for possible table variation, the Nature Mystery of Oracle if you take the 'Bonded Mount' revelation. (As in, I could see some people taking an overly narrow view and saying no, though I personally think the overall read would be yes).

I do not think you'd need the boon for druid, as the options in it are open for druid anyway. I could be mistaken, though.

If anyone argues with you, tell them to show you the definition of "class feature" to prove why it doesn't work.

Out of curiosity, what boon is that/where is it from, and what animals does it make available?

Opps,.. and this folks, is why you should not attempt to make new character concepts at 3am. Still, the list of where it is useful is helpful. Thanks folks!

The boon as, is mentioned in my OP, Mounted Tradition. I got mine back in Season 5, when like none of these races were legal so it confused the heck out of me. Now a bunch are legal. It is also part of the RSP, which makes it much more common. I think three other people at my store have a copy ATM.
