In The Last Jedi, The First Order will have super heavy 'gorilla' walkers, although I doubt this name will be the one used.

Some new Canon trivia items.
A reading from 'A Journal of the Whills' has the phrase, "From a Certain Point of View," which means Obi-Wan was actually quoting scripture to Luke.
As a child, General Hux was emotionally and physically abused by his father.
The Super Star Destroyer Eclipse is sent to the Unknown Regions before the events of the Battle of Jakku, by Emperor Palpatine's directive. It stands to reason The First Order has this ship.
TIE Strikers were in use at the Battle of Jakku.
Imperial Advisor Yupe Tashu is revealed to be one of the leaders of the Acolytes of the Beyond, who are in turn Dark Side followers. He perished at the Battle of Jakku.
Boba Fett's armor has been seen on Tatooine after the events of Return of the Jedi. It stands to reason he got out of the Sarlacc pit.
The Bounty Hunter and Han Solo rival, Dengar is alive after the events of Return of the Jedi. For his aid to the fledgling New Republic at the Battle of Jakku, he receives full pardon for his war crimes.
Ben Organa Solo is born as The Empire signs the Galactic Concordance.
Lando and Lobot liberate Cloud City from the Imperial Garrison stationed there.
Lando gives Ben Organa Solo an expensive gun and expensive ship as presents.
Chewbacca's son, Lumpawaroo from the Star Wars Christmas Special is part of Canon again.
So is Durga Besadii Tai (Durga the Hutt).
Jar Jar Binks was exiled (again) after the events of the Clone Wars, his people thinking him colluding with The Empire and supporting Emperor Palpatine.
The Church of The Force, which believes Jedi did not control The Force, but rather were conduits of The Force, exists in the Galaxy.
The cockpit of a Lambda class shuttle is also an escape pod, as it is in Legends.

Awesome thread.
You are very kind.
As a tribute to you, my first poster and friend Freehold, did you ever hear the Tale of Y-Wings and Dark Elves?

what a poor pilot! Or should I say strategist? The y wings shouldn't have engaged the howlrunner until the a wings dealt with the ties. They don't have shields so it should have been a snap! Then again I don't play this game...

Given that some of you here already know my sentiments concerning recent . . . developments . . . in our much-beloved "galaxy far, far away", I will do my best to restrict my comments to elements of the content here I find slightly less inflammatory. I don't want to drag anyone's enthusiasm down.
So:
2) I'll read the book. I won't pay a dime for it -- not even in late fees at a library.
3) At least Abeloth is trying to reach out to those of us that prefer the EU material of yore. I hope Zahn pulled a James Earl Jones, and charged 'em a dollar per word.
_________
Hopefully all the above isn't too volatile. But I'll spoiler it anyway . . . . goes back, spoilers his frustrations

From a Certain Point of View short story anthology announced.
I see two names who's written for Pathfinder - Paul S Kemp (web fiction), and Cavan Scott (some of the audio plays).
Also, omg, Ken Liu! And Nnedi Okarafor!

Some great names there, this anthology celebrates 40 years of Star Wars A New Hope with 40 short stories from the perspective of background and supporting characters from the original movie written by 40 authors (including the authors of the Rogue One and The Force Awakens novelizatios), ALL of the authors donating their earnings to charity.
Del Rey has committed $100,000 and Lucas Arts $1,000,000 to the charity First Book.
Stories will include the perspective of X - Wing pilots taking on the Death Star to the Stormtroopers searching for those two Rebel droids.
