Character Disscussions

Advice

I don't know I haven't seen a previous post like this if there is I will happily direct us over to it, Here lets all just sit and talk about random characters people have put together or are putting together and need advice on or need some input with. I am currently putting together a (Promethean Alchemist/Chirurgeon) Alchemist, I have no idea what he could do, It'd make sense to have him be joe shmoe fighter with upsurd healing after a battle basically taking place of the healer after combats and he'd provide the party with essentially two extra bodies in a fight, given his homunculous and himself but sadly neither are all that good at anything, You can take disable device and perception, a rogue is still better but it'd help, you could take all the knowledges you can and be semi knowledgable but it doesn
t seem that effective, and even then what race could it be a human to maybe get better armor idk, it seems like a fun build and just wanted some inputs on what could be feel free for anyone else do ask of a build they're working on as well.

I am not sure the conversion forum is best for this thread; advice might be better.

Regarding races, humans are pretty good at everything; elves and basically anything with a bonus to Intelligence are also awesome alchemists. My limited understanding of alchemists is that they can be great at anything if you pick the right archetypes and other options to support them. For instance, if you want to be a melee master, you would take a combination of ragechemist, beastmorph and vivisectionist (the 1st two don't stack, I think). If your group needs a trap guy, Trap Breaker will make you about as good as a rogue. Chirurgeon sets you up to be a good buffer/healer. He can do anything you want, but he can't do everything; he's just one character.

If I was building an alchemist, I would do a gnome Saboteur and Grenadier, focusing on the bombs, because I enjoy blowing stuff up.

As far as characters I'm thinking about, I have an Ifrit Wishcrafter; an Occultist with a background in archaeology; a Pinhead-inspired cleric of Zon-Kuthon and a Dark Tapestry Oracle for evil campaigns; and a Pactmaker or two from the about to be released, 3rd party book Grimoire of Lost Souls. It's an update to the Binder class from 3.5's Tome of Magic.
