However I do understand. I do not wish to push for anything, I have a tendency to get forceful.
Perhaps something like barbarian rage. Empower, but gain status conditions after.
I like the mechanic of having the ability to nova, but it being a risk to do so, beyond just running out of spells, something more tangible than that

Ilina Aniri |

i posted my Mechanics in the other primary thread but
i'm a Beaker born Nyxad Stealth Dabbler who poses a a human or half elf child to keep herself out of trouble and happens to have a day job as an Apothecaries Assistant in a manner similar to a nurse to a doctor, and is the daughter of said Apothecary, blessed with the Gift of Mind Magic up to 7th level, which is Pseudo Psionic and well, focused heavily on deccieving the senses of others with the secondary benefits of gaining sensory benefits or temporarily learning skills.
as an Apothecary's Daughter, she knows how to apply and identify herbal medications based on what she knows from her mother's shop, but not neccessarily how to mix them.
her level abilities will be a Mix of Nyxad Racial Powers Manifesting, her finishing her training under her mother, and her learning to work as an Assassin who gathers information by appearing inconspicuous while using her knowledge of herbs to cripple her targets.
18, 16, 15, 14, 14, 12 are highest
putting my 18 in intelligence
my 16 in charisma
my 15 in dexterity
my 14s in constitution and wisdom
and my 12 in strength
my skills
Stealth is my Dabbler skill
but for the base 4
Manipulation
Larcency
Linguistics
and Heal (representing my time as an Apothecaries daughter)
knowledges
Humanities
Nature
Planes
Psionica
Arcana
Good Saves
Reflex and Will
Magic Style: Mental

Hey Jo, I know you weren't really looking for a Mage type but I couldn't get it out of my mind.
Here is the mage example I threw together to get it out of my hair. Remember a natural mage recovers used spells after 5 minutes of rest, feats and level powers can be used to augment or alter your spells, and at level 2 you will get another use of reshape and at every odd level you get a new spell appropriate to the spell level that will scale fairly well as you level.
I'll get to work on the dabbler next, and then the hero.

Moira Morrigan |

Hi there. Jo asked me if I'd be interested to play here. And indeed I am. The character concept is really rough as it's on short notice.
Moira was an unusual child insofar as half her head grew only white hair right from her birth. People always were suspicious of her. Some even accused her of being a witch. The hostilities grew stronger as she grew up and some in her village wanted to see her dead.
Her natural personality would have been that of a happy go lucky but over time she grew more and more introvert. It wasn't a good life but this village at a small creek in the midst of the dark woods was all she knew and it never occured to her to leave.
Until this fateful day. She was collecting wood in the woods chopping some branches whistling being in a rather good mood alone there. There three women from the village approached her, accusing her of being the cause of a miscarriage. Of cursing the pregnant woman. The elderly women leading them shouted at her, slapped her and spat in her face.
Moria became silent first and wished for a hole to open under her to disappear. But then something broke inside of her. Her eyes turned white her demeanor ice cold and she cut down the woman with her axe in one stroke. The other women fled in panic.
Moria dropped the axe, turned away from the village and walked. She walked day and night until she finally reached another settlement. The voices around her caused her to wake up like from a nightmare. Her memories of everything before that moment are like in a haze. Ever since she seems like a nice but shy girl that is a bit anxious. In reality she is afraid of herself. Even though she can't exactly tell why.
Mechanics: Probably divine caster. Nice healing girl/dark harbinger of death - split personality.
What do you think?

Ilina Aniri |

i actually don't mind somebody who can assist me with healing while also providing some offense. i'm more intended as a social character that can do some light out of combat healing and some light combat, but it isn't like we have anyone who can provide healing and support during combat.
i mean sure. i can debuff foes if i serve them drugged meals. but only if they aren't immune to being drugged. so somebody who can add practical in combat healing and support makes my job easier.

Moira Morrigan |

Not to disappoint you but Moira would either do some martial fighting and during that also heal someone if necessary. But when her other personality comes up it would be like barbarian rage is described in the story of the iconic Amiri. Not that hot rage, more becoming ice cold and precise in killing. But still in a haze. A 'would you please heal me' would probably fall on deaf ears in that situation.
For becoming a team player in that regard I have to think about how she gets to know and embrace both of her sides but to keep it true to the concept that's nothing that happens right away.

Moira Morrigan |

That's just details. For game starting and character introduction most of that is not needed usually.
But some help would be appreciated and as I understood is even necessary as most of that is up to GM approval.
Some thoughts about mechanics.
Moira should be able to stand in the front row (medium armor like cleric?)
As her weapon I would like to have a scythe
I need to check on the spells that would match here and then decide if her abilities are mostly necromancy/death effect spells for full caster or if it should be more along the lines of medium casting and some abilities that are like called quarrel when going bad girl.
Questions: How are attacks and damage done? If I read it right it is not attached to the character attributes (Strength).

kyrt-ryder |
There's a flat chart [presently behind the curtain] for each Archetype's BAB and a formula which includes BAB to result in the to-hit for each Archetype [excluding situational modifiers or magical enhancement.]
If you want to be on the front row you're usually going to want to be either a Hero (full BAB) or a Dabbler (3/4ths BAB) [our friendly mage is an exception to the usual rule.]
If you're a Dabbler you'll want to choose one of this game's skills to develop into a Skill Art [a special power that's core to your theme, like a Bard with Performance or an Alchemist with Business:Alchemy.]
Cleric would often be Knowledge [Religion] but there are other paths you could take.

Moira Morrigan |

What I got so far (Or think I got)
I roll my stats as best 6 out of 12 3d6
I decide for Dabbler as that seems to match best
The dabble thing is what I can make up mostly free?
I'm at a loss about the 14 skill sets in the overview and the skills that are summed up under these 14.
The skill points I get (4+1?) are to be spent on the detailed skills, or on these 14? And is there a spending limit?

Jo, the Traveler |

ok
Skill points aren't actually skill points
They are skill specializations.
Trained: 6+Tier+Level [+8 at level 1]
Untrained: 4+½ Level [+4 at level 1]
Skils you specialize in are the trained ones
So as a dabbler you pick 4 skills to specialise in, I believe.
When you specialize you gain the unlocks at the level mentioned, so for athletics per say you get spider climb at lvl 5.
Make sense skill wise?
And then you pick your dabble skill which is what your class abilities are based off of

kyrt-ryder |
I'm giving you a GM's reroll Moira, you can take either set of stats.
3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1) = 5

Moira Morrigan |

So highest 6 are 16, 15, 14, 12, 9, 9.
GMs highest 6 are 15, 15, 15, 14, 13, 13 (thanks kyrt-ryder, I'll take these)
Lets say that's
STR 15
DEX 14
CON 15
INT 13
WIS 13
CHA 15
Skills:
Survival
Acrobatics
Athletics
Spellcraft
Mostly skills on her own as her upbringing didn't help with the social interaction.
Good Saves: Will and Fort
So far I haven't found the HP.
And nothing about equipment and starting wealth and such.

kyrt-ryder |
As a dabbler your HP is 4d4 per level, +5. You can roll them or take average.
For equipment you start with basic weapons and armor according to your concept, and 50 gold for miscellaneous nonmagical gear.
Don't forget to select your Skill Art [or at least the Skill for it, we can work on the Ability you have through that skill together] and your two free knowledges [one for existing and one for +1 int bonus]

Ilina Aniri |

1handed weapons deal 1d6 damage +2 additional points per level. off hand weapons count as 1handers
2handed weapons deal 2d6 damage +3 additional points per level
Armor is category based and mostly cosmetic. light armor could be anything from Spidersilk clothing to a mesh gambeson or a hauberk for example.
