The series exploring the strange and the familiar is back!
We haven't assigned the Letters to months, yet. The schedule will be up by tomorrow. Here's what we've got coming:

Could you expand briefly on those topics, please?
I'll try to expand some, though I should say the specifics are not yet set. Some of the topics will be influenced by backers of the Kickstarter who paid to be involved. They all will be influenced by the writers we hire. Team efforts often change as ideas are swapped back and forth. But, in a nutshell.
Libraries and Research: Expanded rules on research and scholarly investigation as well as a history of libraries and several different types of libraries and research institutions which can be plugged into a setting.
Imaginary Friends: A new, occult-oriented creature type. Several examples will be given and they will be suitable for sidekicks of the familiar and possibly companion variety.
Religion Communities: What are the benefits, both mundane and divine, to belonging to an organized religion in a fantasy world? What does it actually mean to worship a god? Are their tithes? Must you attend service regularly? Cover your head? Keep a specific diet?
The Puppet Show: Puppets. You know they're watching you. Moving when you're not looking. Now you'll be able to prove it.
Gremlins: This one's a work in progress. We're still discussing it with the backer who chose the topic.
Dangerous Spores: A look at molds, spores, and fungi by an expert in the field for use in your fantasy campaign.

JGray, I have a question for you based on two observations that might seem to work at cross purposes. Of course this could all be solved with enough people to work on it.
You are reducing the amount of letters for the next year but also offering a pledge level that pumps out another letter. How many people did you think would take you up on that $400 tier?

We are reducing the number of Letters, while increasing the word count per Letter, yes.
And honestly, we don't expect more than one or two at the $400 tier, if that. There are two now but we can't experience has taught us never to count a backer, especially a high level one, as locked until the credit card payment clears.
Still, we likely will lock the tier if we get many more.

We're at $1625 out of $2000 with 27 days left to go! Not bad at all. Please consider backing us!
Alex Abel, the Captain of Flaming Crab Games, and I sat down (virtually) last night and did some planning. I thought I'd share some of what went down.
1. We calculated we'll be hiring between 20 and 24 writers for next year's Letters from the Flaming Crab books.
2. At least six of those writers will be "new". Which we're defining as having three or less professional (paid) game writing credits. The series has always been about giving new writers a chance to get their feet wet.
3. Other writers will be returning. We've had a chance to work with some amazing folk in the past year and we want to work with them again. That includes Kelly Pawlik of Tangible Taverns fame and the woman some here known only as... Bardess.
4. The current release schedule looks to be as follows: Puppet Show (February), Gremlins (April), Libraries and Research (June), Imaginary Friends (August), Benefits of Religion (October), Dangerous Spores (December).
5. In news not related directly to Letters, the first draft of Culinary Cookbook is almost done. We're rounding out on 60 total recipes in addition to a bevy of character options for the culinary minded character.
