Well, not half of Sandpoint but both of the Vinder sisters.. at the same time.

PC bard gets taken down to the basement by Shayliss, makes his perception check to hear pops coming downstairs, hides, makes his stealth checks, sneaks out. The PC comes back later for Shayliss and when Ven wakes up to investigate the noise he goes storming into Katrina's room assuming she's the one up to no good. The PC hits Ven with Charm Person and pretends to be their teacher, weaves a plausible story (he's a bard with a focus on Oratory) Ven goes back to bed, the PC goes to bed with Shayliss AND Katrina. Fade to black.

So now what? If it had been one sister we could have had a sweet relationship build, but instead we've got both and a Charmed father who... might remember being charmed? I'm not actually sure how to handle Ven the next time he sees the PC. But all of this is complicated by the fact that of course

Spoiler:
Katrina is murdered with Harker at the mill at the start of book two by the Skinsaw Man.

So I'm just going to sort of see where this goes--if he tries to keep up the relationship with both sisters that could have some hilarious consequences, but any suggestions?

Thanks!

Charm doesn't last that long. And it doesn't provide any memory-erasing features. As far as Ven goes, in the morning he realizes he's been had. He may even suspect magic. I'd have him react with hostility toward the bard (and the party) as if he'd caught the Bard with Shayliss per the AP. In certain spoilerific futures, his hostility toward the bard can easily escalate and now he has a real reason.

As for the sisters, I'd let that play out as the pc's play it. Nothing about the dalliance precludes future entanglements. The sisters seem plenty... flexible about such things.

If the bard continues his promiscuous ways, perhaps with others, the sisters can get jealous and all kinds of love triangle chaos can ensue, setting the bard up for all kinds of real trouble later.

This would be easier to discuss without spoilers in the Burnt Offerings GM thread.

Yeah, I sort of let the Charm spell be slightly overpowered in him taking the suggestion to go back to bed, but whatever. I'm definitely having him suspect magic and be cognizant that something happened.

Yeah, the real trouble is sort of limited by the role certain members of the love triangle play later, but point taken about thread placement. Thanks!

People know they've been charmed or even if they don't know exactly what happened, magically compelled to do something they did not want to do, don't they? That's gonna be a mess once it wears off!

Scarab Sages

While I have no advice, as my Shayliss thread fell completely apart in my campaign, this is pure gold. Man, I love things like this. It could go practically anywhere. Please let us know how it turns out!

Agreed. Every NPC under a charm that I've read about so far in the AP has some verbage under their Development to the effect that 'if the PCs remove the charm, the NPC is angry at whomever placed the charm on them and immediately moves to take revenge'. A couple grew to adore those that charmed them, but they all know.

This doesn't seem all that plausible to me unless the Vender girls start fighting over the character later on. Sure one night of passion might be fun but both girls have appearances to keep up and reputations to think of (don't laugh, they don't know how the people around town gossip about them). That should have Banny Harker in quite a huff since up until the new heroes came along Katrine was his gal. Banny has friends, and connections with the Scarnetti family so things should get kind of miserable for the heroes now if they stand up for their bardic compatriot.

And if magic is suspected; both girls will want to save their reputations if the bard doesn't consent to a proper relationship. I would think that an accusation that the bard charmed them as well isn't hard to believe. In fact, the two girls might come to believe it themselves (the human mind is amazing, even more so in a fantasy world). That brings up the possibility of rape charges, since charming somebody is removing the ability to give proper consent. This could get ugly really quick for the young bard. Hopefully he'll be able to keep his schedule straight and meet up with the right girl at the right time. Especially if he winds up juggling more than just time with the Vinder girls.

I sense serious animosity in your bardic player's future.
