So my PCs are likely going to find the Seven's Sawmill next session. They captured Nualia and, the fools that they are, brought her to Magnimar for trial. Where the judge assigned to the case just so happened to be Justice Ironbriar.

I'm planning to have her join Justice Ironbriar at the Sawmill, along with of all people Shayliss Vinder. One of my PCs took up with Shayliss and abandoned her somewhat callously. Shayliss ran away to Magnimar, having been, like Nualia, shamed by the residents of Sandpoint for her illicit love affair.

Off stage, Nualia takes Shayliss under her wing in Magnimar and brings her over to worship Lamashtu . The child Shayliss bears in her womb from the affair has become a monstrosity touched by Lamashtu. My campaign got a little soapy. It's been fun. Gonna be an interesting social encounter, if nothing else.

I'd like to level Nualia a bit but avoid turning the fight into a TPK. As written though, it honestly doesn't seem that difficult? Any suggestions as to how many levels to add, and any particular skills you'd add? I'm thinking a level, maybe two max. And I might give Shayliss a cleric level too..

So my last session kind of concluded in a hurry and there were a bunch of loose ends to tie up that didn't really get tied up. Including one character kinda maybe taking Vorel's phylactery with them without knowing what it is, or at this point fully suspecting the whole Lich thing.

Basically we had to wrap up the session, party was in bad shape after a lot of con damage, and a lot of the house is still unexplored. So they bug out, trek a ways from the house, and set up camp.

I don't want to punish them exactly but I am wondering what sort of power the failed phylactery might have on its own? Or barring that, giving some sense of it? My thought was maybe having a carrionstorm come and take back the box in the night.

That or doing a Dread Gazebo thing and have the house itself come after the box.

Has anyone actually used Malfeshnekor's Change Shape ability to look like a harmless little goblin in the room to lure the PCs in? Seems a little cruel but also an awesome plot moment. If they survive.

Oh man, I love the idea of Ripnugget throwing a rager and proclaiming his awesomeness. That's great.

How did y'all handle your PCs making an incursion on Thistletop but not finishing everything off in one session?

My PCs killed the refugees, made successful diplomacy checks to talk down Gogmurt but not before he raised the alarm. They crossed the bridge, fought a lot of goblins, and then retreated. I've got my own plans for Gogmurt long-term but I'm not sure how to handle Ripnugget and Nualia. I'm assuming Nualia won't care much about what's happening above and will keep her contingent below, except for maybe Bruzthumus, who might come up to help?

I was thinking Ripnugget will probably keep a lookout for the PCs for a day or so and then lose interest. Not sure yet if he'd try to ambush the PCs or just wait.

Great, thanks all! I just know they're gonna latch on to anything Thassilonian, but I can play it up as Brodert being excited about this remarkable historical find and have him say something to the effect of "these finds turn up sometimes!" and get all excited about writing an article about it.

Any suggestions for how to handle my PCs not quite getting that they can spill their own blood to make Sinspawn in the Catacombs of Wrath, eventually depleting the Runewell? The PCs want to bring Father Zantus down to consecrate the unholy fountain of Lamasthu's and if they bring him to the Runewell, I may have Zantus suggest that they talk to Brodert Quinck, although I'm loathe to bring Brodert in so early. Thoughts?

My PCs did the Chopper's Island sidequest, finding the remains of Das Korvut's son and the dismembered bits of the victims of the Chopper. They returned the eyeballs ad tongues of the Chopper's victims to Father Zantus for burial and Father Zantus decided to hold a public ceremony/burial for the victims. Any suggestions on what sort of words a Cleric of Desna would say at a public ceremony of burial?

(Chopper's Island sidequest is here, for reference: http://www.dorkistan.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Choppers-Isle.pdf)

Yeah, I sort of let the Charm spell be slightly overpowered in him taking the suggestion to go back to bed, but whatever. I'm definitely having him suspect magic and be cognizant that something happened.

Yeah, the real trouble is sort of limited by the role certain members of the love triangle play later, but point taken about thread placement. Thanks!

Well, not half of Sandpoint but both of the Vinder sisters.. at the same time.

PC bard gets taken down to the basement by Shayliss, makes his perception check to hear pops coming downstairs, hides, makes his stealth checks, sneaks out. The PC comes back later for Shayliss and when Ven wakes up to investigate the noise he goes storming into Katrina's room assuming she's the one up to no good. The PC hits Ven with Charm Person and pretends to be their teacher, weaves a plausible story (he's a bard with a focus on Oratory) Ven goes back to bed, the PC goes to bed with Shayliss AND Katrina. Fade to black.

So now what? If it had been one sister we could have had a sweet relationship build, but instead we've got both and a Charmed father who... might remember being charmed? I'm not actually sure how to handle Ven the next time he sees the PC. But all of this is complicated by the fact that of course

Spoiler:
Katrina is murdered with Harker at the mill at the start of book two by the Skinsaw Man.

So I'm just going to sort of see where this goes--if he tries to keep up the relationship with both sisters that could have some hilarious consequences, but any suggestions?

Thanks!
