We already know the core races are on their way out, one way or another. The question is, what about the rest of 'em? Will there be orcs in space? Will aboleths have their slaves construct massive aquatic vessels, or will they be lost along with their world? Will the flumphs be a major figure in this? How will dragons make it to the cosmos? What maniac let the goblins up there?
This thread is for that speculation. For my part, I'm guessing gremlins will have constructed their own terrible, terrible ships. Constantly on the verge of collapse, these masses of scrap metal will drift through space, launching cryogenically frozen rust monsters at enemy ships. Those who look at them closely can make out little masked vexgits skittering about the ships' frames, patching up new holes while accidentally making new ones.
Kobolds were carried by helpful masters into space, where they promptly stole supplies and escape pods and, through a complicated and disastrous mixup, scattered their species to every corner of the galaxy. This has had truly horrific consequences for would-be miners and explorers, who now must contend with the fact that every asteroid, every meteor, is a potential kobold hive just waiting to eviscerate any who try to enter.
I would be very surprised if stuff we already have on the Dark Tapestry does not get at least mention and/or expanded. Somehow I can see them as major adversaries in this setting.
