Psychic Bloodline and Prestige Classes

Rules Questions

Context: Considering a cross-blooded psychic/dragon sorcerer and wondering s/he can go into the dragon disciple class.

Question: As has been asked before, is a sorcerer with the psychic bloodline still an "arcane casting class" for the purpose of prerequisites?

3 people marked this as a favorite.

The prerequisites of Dragon Disciple include: "Ability to cast 1st-level arcane spells without preparation."

The bloodline arcana of the psychic bloodline says, "Your sorcerer spells and spell-like abilities count as psychic instead of arcane."

♫ One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just isn't the same. ♫

Edit: also, this has nothing specifically to do with PFS.

Well, it's for a PFS character, but point taken. This could be moved to the rules forum.

So, the 'spells per day' entries only add to whatever other arcane spellcasting class you took to qualify, but the 'blood of dragons' ability still gives sorcerer bonus spells assuming he has slots of those levels from his sorcerer class (which could not be improved via the aforementioned 'spells per day' entry")
