@Elton So in this case you're losing one more spell known, but gaining a +2 damage to all fire spells of which you have none at 1st level which is essentially being elemental twice. And you get a penalty of -2 to Will saves and really only have one bloodline power variant at 9th. So you're a really elementally linked dragon sorcerer. I assume to brass or something else that's a fiery dragon who lives in deserts? The extra two points per die is a nice boost, but it's only with fire magic, so it's controllable. Hmm, a pyromaniacal Halfling? Fire Fire Fire, Burn, burn, burn? Well keep out of the wooden tombs for that guy.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Elton's stats are done, will have revised Background up tomorrow.

Tried to post this last night but I guess I failed my Use Messagebaords check.
Elton's revised background is up. Key point (and something you and players should know) is that he won't be a straight sorcerer forever. Plan is to take Arc or Wiz levels as he learns more about controlling magic. Kinda depends on how the game goes, I'd like the "what class do I take" to be somewhat driven by the events of the game.
Also, regarding spell selection, I thought about that for a while. Ultimately, I'm trying to choose spells that will maximize overall party damage/combat efficiency. True, I don't have any fire spells yet, but that is as much a RP decision as it is an metagame decision.
That said, good luck to everyone. Sure it's going to be a great game.

Why then chose crossblooded? It won't even have any effect until 3rd level the earliest and even then it'll continue to severely affect your defenses and flexibility (spell selection).
Because I like to have options in future feat and class choices, I've never played one before, and I like the RP opportunities it offers.
Sure, crossblooded is something that I'll get more out of down the road. But I wasn't planning to optimize him around first level spells. And I have to disagree that it's "severely" affecting his defenses. It's a negative to his best save, and he's got solid WIS. So even with the hit to Will saves he still has a +3 to something based on his (at best) fourth most important stat. So I don't see it as much of a hindrance. There are plenty of ways to get around the lack of spells (wands, pages, potions, etc), so I'm not overly concerned about that drawback either. UMD is also gong to be important, so I'm actually more concerned about efficiently/effectively using his actions once he levels up a bit.
Hope that answers your question(s). Let me know if I need to clarify or expand on anything, and feel free to PM if/as needed.
