Adding a physical sheet online?

I asked this once before, but I forgot the answer, plus it may have changed.

So, to try to keep it short. My first ever PFS game was this past Free RPG Day where, since there were more players than pregen goblins, we played through a regular PFS adventure of that tier. Since I had no character, I used a pregen and was told that I could either apply it to my first character right away and it would be worth less, or I could wait until I was level 3 and apply it then. I've decided to wait.

Now, my question is when the time comes, how do I apply the character to my account? I noticed that the online game I played is listed for me, but of course as my character wasn't made at the time, the pregen game isn't.

I would ask the VC but he moved to Texas and didn't give me any info about his successor before he did. :( Soo um... maybe if the VC in charge of Topeka, Kansas might have to be the one to apply it?

Your advancement is done through your chronicles, so as long as you got one after that first game, you're fine.

I understand you played a 4th-level pregen. If that's correct, wait until your PC hits 9 XP, then you should add on that pregen chronicle to your stack as if your 4th-level PC had played it - adding the XP, prestige, and gold to your running total.

Even if you played a pregen, the organiser/GM of that first game should have reported it against your PFS number (assuming you had one back then); players shouldn't need to take any action. It's not essential to have the online reporting correct, but if it's important to you, I would contact your nearest VC/VL (there's one in Olathe, Kansas), supplying your character's PFS number, as well as the event number and GM number from the bottom of the chronicle sheet - they may well be able to help you out.

Sounds like it was a 3rd level pregen for one of the modules like the We Be Goblins line.

Let's say you decided to apply it to your newly made -6 character. While it'd be registered to that character, until you actually apply it to your stack you don't have that xp, gold, and prestige yet.

As it was explained to me when I started, if I GM 3 scenarios that were ran as 4-5, I could assign them to my level 2 character. If I applied them right now, I get reduced gold. But if I waited till the character is level 4 to apply the chronicles, I'd get full gold and prestige. At which point I'd hit level 4, the chronicles get applied in order of being assigned, and BAMF my character just hit level 5 pretty much instantly.

I checked the OP's posting history; it was a 4th-level pregen.

We're straying away from the OP's question but this is wrong. The only time you 'hold' GM credit to be applied later is if the PC you're assigning credit to is completely out of tier for the scenario/module (e.g. a 3rd-level PC getting GM credit for a tier 5-9 scenario). You then apply it immediately once they're 'in tier'.

If you GM a tier 1-5 scenario and want to give credit to a 2nd-level PC, you apply it immediately. The PC gets full rewards as if you'd played it at subtier 1-2. There's no option to hold it till they're 4th level to get the higher subtier rewards.

You do have the option of declining the GM chronicle sheet for that session, and taking one the next time you GM that scenario. This may be to your advantage if you have a PC that's advanced to the higher subtier by the second time you run it, or similar.

This info is on pages 38-39 of the PFS Roleplaying Guild Guide v7.0.

The scenarios in question that I'd been considering GMing wasn't 1-5. It was 5-9 or or so. Can't remember the exact upper limit. Decided to hold off on that, and instead ran Crypt of the Everflame at the time.

And I was using it as an example of what happens when you add a chronicle to the stack but it doesn't get applied till the character reaches X level.

Whatever the tier, you don't have the choice to apply it to a 2nd level PC or hold it for later. The only time you apply it to PC out of the adventure's tier is if it's to a 1st level PC (with reduced gold).

Bear in mind that they work different ways: held GM credit gets applied as soon as you reach the bottom limit of the scenario's tier, while held pregen credit is applied when you reach the level of pregen you played. The exception is adventures where you have to play a pregen (e.g. Serpent's Rise) where it works the same as GM credit.

Okay, let me explain better what I mean... So, I played an online game (after the in person pregen) and this is what it says on Luna's profile...

Date Event Session GM Scenario Player Character Faction Prestige Points Notes
Jul 24, 2015 24086 DM Panic's PFS Perils 42 wakedown Master of the Fallen Fortress (RPG) 182642 -1 Luna Shiratori Dark Archive 1 Report a problem with this session

So, how do I get the physical sheet I have listed like that online for when I play online without having to scan in the PDF and such?

Hell, for that matter how do I make sure that game was even reported properly? Topeka's VC moved to Texas shortly after that game and I've had no contact with anyone since.

I've thought about looking into the requirements myself, but not sure if I am able with how new to PFS I am. Plus, being an actual VC I doubt I could do with that 'convention' requirement.

The game should already be listed on your online profile, but the organiser/GM failed to report it (or maybe made an error when reporting and got your number wrong).

As I posted above, I would contact your nearest VC/VL (there's a VL in Olathe, Kansas and a VC in Kansas City, Missouri which sound like they're near to you). I would supply:
- Your character's PFS number (182642-1)
- The event number (which should be on the bottom of your physical chronicle sheet)
- The GM's PFS number (also on the bottom of the sheet)
They may be able to help you out.

But be aware that the online records often suffer from these issues, and a photo of your chronicle uploaded to Dropbox or similar may be the easiest solution.

Yah, if I need to do that I will even if I need to go to Kinko's or something to scan it. I just found out that my printer/scanner doesn't work for some reason the other day when I tried to use it for an unrelated issue.

Do you have a phone with a camera?

Another option is to type the information.
