Nature Training...what?

Hunters get this ability at 1st level:

Nature Training (Ex)

A hunter counts her total hunter level as both druid levels and ranger levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats, traits, and options that modify or improve an animal companion.

what feats, traits and "options" require levels in ranger or druid that modify or improve animal companions?

also, what do they mean by "options"? favored class bonuses?

I don't have time to do it now, but go on d20pfsrd or archives of nethys and look up "animal companion" and either druid or ranger. That should help you find some things.

I'm pretty sure that they left "options" in there so that it would be forward compatible with any new animal companion options they might make in the future that don't fit the "feats and traits" heading.

Currently it is worthless. There is nothing that relates to animal companions that requires druid/ranger levels beyond an effective druid level to increase the animal companion level. Except maybe Monstrous Mount, which is horribly worded in its prereqs.

Yet another oddity from the ACG.
