applying AP and module credit

I am possibly looking into getting back into GMing adventure paths and modules. Some of the people I have talked to about playing are not interested in pfs or receiving credit for playing. What do I do if I want gm credit but only 1 person if any cares about pfs credit for the module/ap?

Have them sign up for a PFS account as a favor for you and the player. Report the game and give them chronicles, in case they get interested later or want to play at a Con or something. If they never do, no harm, no foul?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If they don't want to, you'd still report the game and only list PFS numbers of players who are taking credit. The reporting will still go through just fine :)

What if I report with myself (as gm) being only one taking credit?

I am pretty sure that it will still go through just fine. Fill in the player's names and character names, leave out numbers and I think that it reports without problems.

I'm not sure if you can put in player/character names without numbers (never actually tried that myself), but you *can* report a session with a GM and no players. It's how we report GM 101 sessions as well as how Overseer GMs for Season Specials get credit :)

Thanks guys. Might gm for the group starting in a month or two but only 1 has any potential interested in pfs credit. I just never saw this happen where only 1 person gets pfs credit.

You get credit for GM 101?

I just gave my players numbers and report them under the numbers even if they never sign up in case they want to at a later date.

Print a couple of PFS numbers, assign them to your players and report it. Make sure to store the chronicle sheets for them, should they ever need it.

For modules don't player characters still have to be PFS legal to report it?

Not in campaign mode (if we are talking about the longer ones like Dragon's Demand or Peril and Plunder, 64pgs). Yes, if you do only the PFS sanctioned part (like from an AP, 32 pgs).

Only if the module doesnt have a campaign mode.

The newer, longer ones, like dragons demand, plunder and peril and tears at bitter manor have a campaign mode.

Ohh I have a question , I've been doing a game at home on campaign mode for Skull and Shackles we have been playing for a while now , i haven't had a need to apply it to a character. I wasn't going to report it until we were all done but I now wanted to build a character to at least what we had done so far because we have a con coming up soonish and I wanted a Mid-level character that wasn't my antisocial hunter. I tried to set it up and I cant report past games ,should I report it all on one day or can i just not claim credit for the past games at this point?

Here is another thread asking almost the exact same questions as you.

I don't know why you are unable to report past games. Click in the date box and start typing (you don't need to use the calendar that pops up).

Best to report them when you finish them. If you don't remember exactly when that was, take your best guess. I think that Paizo uses all of that data.

May also be the problem with reporting multi-part APs and modules, where it no longer has the drop-down for each part in reporting, or that he is getting the not this type of PC message for unregistered PCs.
