Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I've created a little web app to make Spell Cards for Pathfinder.
You can access it here: http://www.theGM.org/
The application is ready for use, but in early development. New features will be added as I'm able.
Currently you can:
- Print Spellcards for every spell in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook
- Filter the Spells by Class and Spell Level
- Print either small cards (9 per page) or large cards (4 per page)
Any comments or suggestions are very welcome!

Don't suppose you could make a variant of this page http://www.thegm.org/perramsSpellbook.php that is JUST the white area (the area from "Perram's Spellbook (ALPHA)" down to the "Generate Cards" button) so that I could embed your generator on the site?
That's awesome work there man (and thanks for the credit on the main page!)
Edit #1: Or... I make you a collaborator and you embed it yourself :)
Edit #2: Now if I could get you to do the same thing for summoned monsters and familiars...

However I did find a typo on the first line of the description of "Protection from Energy". It's trivial but you might want to know about it. In any case very good work.

Gotta say this is awesome, I already did this by using my PDF to print pages on stickies, but I always waste paper because I either don't use enough of the page (when cut left with unprinted areas that just get thrown away) when you actually finish with the filter sort for spells known this will be the greatest fan work ever. I'll use it for every spellcaster I ever have, I might even create a pocket spellbook for my character that I use in real life lol. Awesome, pure Awesome!

That's pretty awesome. A great timesaver, especially for DM's who won't be as familiar with an NPC's spells as a player is with their PC.
The text on the third card of Gate extends just past the bottom of the card. Does that need shuffling?
And a problem will come up in groups that use non-core or homebrew material. In order to keep such spells in the same format as the rest, could there be the option to select a blank (or page of 4, or 9 blanks), that can have text typed or pasted in?

This is made of awesome with an extra helping of "thank you so much you've saved a ton of time at my table!"
This is a great way to organize spells and way cooler than a list in a notebook. So yeah, what everyone else said.
I was looking for just something like this and the closest I got was hand writing the spells on index cards. This is way better and I'll actually be able to read what it says.

Jefferson (Perram) has formatted a version of the tool so that it fits into d20pfsrd.com nicely. You can find the tool now available here in addition to on Perram's site.

Here are the features I'm working on right now, most to directly answer requests here and by email:
- The very next feature you will see is the ability to select individual spells instead of having to print all the spells of an individual class / level.
- I'm also going to be adding some kind of support for printing custom cards. Eventually I'll be supporting more spells than just the core book by default, as well. (Hopefully all Paizo open content...)
- I'll be adding different background options for the cards including a B&W one that will be printer friendly.
- A new card size selection for printing directly onto index cards.

Yeah, there seems to be a bug with cards that extend past the length of 3 cards, especially on the small format. What should happen in that case, just like the other cases, is that a new card should generate.

This is wonderful, purely awesome!
One thing that would be really cool is a "randomize" feature too - so that you can create an NPC wizard's spellbook quickly, and it's usually sweet to have a random one in the same way random treasure is more interesting than normal treasure.

Would it possible to have an option to print out the cards in Magic the Gathering [WotC] size so we can use card sleeves to make a deck of "today's spells" with?
Great new tool! I was playing around with it and found it very useful. One thing I did notice, however, was that the colors are kinda drull. Would it be difficult to allow the user to generate spell cards in other colors? Perhaps a drop-down list of 3-5 predefined color pallets, including white for people trying to save ink.
Just an idea.

That is the size that the small cards are supposed to be... I'll tweak the settings on those and see if I can get them to be a bit closer.

Perram's Spellbook now has a Custom Card Creator! If you want to make a matching card for a spell not in the Core Rulebook, you now can!
Only one card at a time, right now, but I'll be expanding this feature later.

No one else has mentioned this so it must be something particular to my setup, but the descriptions on my cards seem to have hard line breaks in them (looks like br elements). Why is that? It screws up the formatting in my Firefox 3.6.2 browser. It should be possible to simply remove the line breaks to fix the formatting based on what I've seen of your use of the spellDescription CSS class. I suppose I could remove the line breaks using a GreaseMonkey script, but I'd rather not. :)
(Btw, if you're using the same CSS for both screen and print, you can put screen, print into the media attribute.)

The line breaks are there in order to control when a new card is created. The program is set up to count the number of total lines the card is, and start a new card when it reaches its limit.
How is it messing up your formatting? I definitely want to make my app as compatible as possible!
As for the print and screen in the CSS, that is because I don't intend to keep them the same. I'll be breaking them into two CSS documents once I'm satisfied with the application and move it out of Alpha.

Thanks! This really helped me understand the problem. I think I've come up with a solution.
I removed the breaks from the ends of the lines. I've also switched over to Times New Roman, and Times as the fonts to try and enhance consistency of display.
Could you both please see if this solved the issues for you? Another screen shot would be wonderful!

I’ve added a bunch of changes to the software today:
- I’ve added support for printing onto index cards directly. A perfect solution if you don’t want to cut the cards out from the sheet prints.
- In order to make cutting easier, I’ve removed the space between the cards. In both large and small formats.
- COLOR! You now have several color options when printing the cards, including a printer friendly Black and White color scheme.
- Auto Color by Spell School. With this option (now the default) is selected, each school of magic is represented by a different color scheme. This makes it easier to find the card you’re looking for at a glance.
- Spell Level in Title. A small change, but a useful one! If you’ve filtered the spells by spell level, you now have the option to print this level at the top right corner of the spell. This should help when organizing them.
- New font. I’ve changed the font to Times New Roman and Times in order to increase compatibility across multiple browsers.
I hope you find these changes useful! As always, looking forward to any feedback, requests, or suggestions!

Okay so I just tried to use the card generator and it was all messed up, so I'm gonna explain as much as possible so that you can hopefully work out the issue.
First details, I'm on a Dell Studio running windows 7.
I chose wizard level 1, large cards (4 per page), Auto color by spell school, and select individual spells, print spell level in title.
When the selection came up, I selected all abjuration spells and hypnotism.
When the page with my cards came up it was not set up to print 4 a page, Instead it's set up 4 cards wide, 3 rows. When I tell it to print, it says I have a total of one page to print, and then I got a print of one page with nothing but 3 lines at the top of the page and the website header. One page with four spells and the headers of two more spells (ending on the components line), the next page contains what was left of the 2 spells from the previous page, 2 fully usable spell cards, and the header of two more spells going down to the description line. Then the last page has the remains of those last two spells. Oh yeah and even though I'm set up to print in color, all the spell cards printed in black and white.
So yeah, no clue what's going on there.
