Once per scenario, you may attempt a skill check as if you were trained in that skill. Your bonus on the check is equal to three plus your number of GM stars and is modified by no other modifiers (including armor check penalty, ability modifiers, etc.).
Can I make a character with this GM Star Reward who doesn't train in any Day Job but can still make a Day Job check, provided he hasn't used the boon during the scenario?

I'm pretty sure 'once per scenario' applies to everything you do during the play session.
i.e. if your character gets sick during the scenario, you can tell your GM you are bedding down in a hospital and hiring a NPC to cast Remove Disease and you can roll your cure checks once you get back home, even though the written part of the scenario is over.

It does say you get to attempt the skill check as if you were trained in the skill, though.

The Guide says that Day Jobs take place between missions, and the roll is made after the end of the adventure. The Guide also says that temporary modifiers outside of Crafter's Fortune spell don't work on a Day Job roll.
First the boon says it must be used during the adventure, and not after it. Second the boon is also a temporary modifier, so it does not work with the Day Job rules.
