Which to take first?

Advice

We just started a level 5 campaign in fairly straight forward world created by the GM.

GM screwed up on starting monies so now, 1 session in I get to purchase up to 7,000 worth of stuff. I'm torn between taking a magic weapon or more buffs to armor.

Here's a bit about my character.
Level 5 Kitsune
Fighter2/Rogue3
Str 14
Dex 19
Con 13
Int 18
Wis 10
Cha 14

Feats are:
Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Exotic Weapon Bastard sword, and Realistic likeness.

Rogue Skill is offensive defense

My skills are geared towards talking and bypassing violence situations, or at least allowing me to stack them in my favor when they do happen.

I took the first 3 feats so I can move into and out of close combat and utilize flanking bonuses whenever.

I've already decided on taking the following magic items:

Dark Leaf Lamellar armor +1 = 1810gp
Handy Havesack = 2000gp
and here's the dilemma:
Do I take a bastard sword +1 =2000gp + (though to be fair I would probably take a katana or nodachi if I did go without the shield)
~or~
Darkwood heavy shield +1 = 1307gp

If I take the shield I can fight non magic and have a 23 AC + 2 if I hit with a sneak attack (offensive defense).

Since I'm using spring attack to move into combat and withdraw quickly I'm not worried about losing attacks since I only get one, I'm just trying to avoid getting crunched.

Any advice or thoughts?

I'd say go for the weapon and buy a normal non-magical shield if you feel you need one.
With the +2 from STR and not much else to boost your attack roll, I think you will start having problems to hit any decent opponent before long.

I slept on it and realized I'm dumb. I just dumped the magic +1 to the shield and added it to the sword... cost me a little more and I had to cut back on some other things. No more +4, Flaming, Keen, Giant intelligent crowbar of demon slaying and door opening, but oh well....
