The Confirmation

Okies i have a question i havent quite been able to find the answer to on the forums. For the confirmation can you play it up to three times with the same character, Therefore moving them from level one to level two, or is it only once with a character? it would save a lot scenerios from being played up just trying to make a level 2. Thanks

No, this falls under the rule that you cannot apply the same chronicle sheet to a specific character multiple times. Although The Confirmation is repeatable, it is only so for different characters. This also includes GM credit; you cannot play a scenario, then GM it and apply your GM credit to the same PC that had played it (since there'd be two copies marked for that PC).

There are plenty of repeatable level 1 scenarios and modules, though, if you if you wish to minimize scenario impact. These include We Be Goblins, Master of the Fallen Fortress, and First Steps pt1.

Sovereign Court

I could see playing it again (only played it once thus far)but why in the world would you WANT to play it over and over again in a row?

you can play it on every new character you make for a discounted wayfinder and easy xp. assuming you can find a table to play it that often.

I have several characters with confirmation and we be goblins as their first two XP. could even throw in crypt of everflame or godsmouth heresy on them all as well. the replayable tier 1s are great for getting PCs up a bit before you set them out into the real world.

The Exchange 5/5

You can play it only once per PC... and only once ever on a 2nd level PC.

If you want another couple starter scenarios, try First Steps (part 1) and/or Masters of the Fallen Fortress...

I personally like First Steps first... then Confirmation 2nd or 3rd...

Thank goodness I found this thread! I was about to ask the same questions.

Now if only it was so simple to find First Steps being played...

If you're open to playing online using a virtual tabletop and Google Hangout, checkout the Pathfinder Society Online Collective. First Steps gets run once every week or two as a posted game and sometimes as a pickup game.

If I ever get around to finishing the prep work, I'll be running First Steps online... right after The Confirmation... which will be right after Master of the Fallen Fortress (no, not RIGHT after).

Figure it'll be a good series to start a new character off at; Master of the Fallen Fortress ends with becoming Pathfinder initiate, The Confirmation is self evident, and First Steps assumes the players are newly Confirmed agents.

With the changes to the factions, I'm betting First Steps 1 will be retired in August, just like parts 2 and 3 were last year when the factions mentioned in them went away.

I wish they would stick to their previous decision on that. I still say the factions changing was a poor reason to retire the other First Step scenarios. Especially when the offending NPCs show up in many other scenarios, some after the faction's retirement. Retiring the last remaining part of First Steps is like making one less 1-5 scenario for every character a person ever creates.

Compton mentioned that they would release a new 1-2 like the confirmation each season, so I am unconcerned about losing first steps when I consider we are getting more.

Yeah, we've still got enough repeatable scenarios/modules for level 1 that nobody ever has to play a level 1-5 or 1-7 scenario with a level 1 character, even without First Steps. There's still We Be Goblins, Master of the Fallen Fortress, The Confirmation, Murder's Mark, The Godsmouth Heresy, and Crypt of the Everflame, which I believe are all repeatable. And as David noted, they promised a year ago, before retiring First Steps 2 and 3, at least one more level 1 repeatable scenario per year, starting with The Confirmation, which is nice.

Still, I like all three First Steps adventures, so I'm sorry to see them go. I'd love to see them edited and re-issued to just eliminate the stuff with the faction leaders, but I know Paizo would rather have their employees working on new material than editing older stuff like that.

4 people marked this as a favorite.

Tier 1 & Tier 1-2 replayable scenarios, modules, and AP segments:

Scenarios:
Intro 1 - First Steps, Part I - In Service to Lore (1)
5–08 - The Confirmation (1-2)

Modules:
Crypt of the Everflame (1-2)
Master of the Fallen Fortress (1-2) *
Murder's Mark (1-2)
The Godsmouth Heresy (1-2)
We Be Goblins (1-2) *
Thornkeep - The Accursed Halls (1-2)

Adventure Paths:
Mummy's Mask - The Half-Dead City (1-2)
Reign of Winter - The Snows of Summer (1-2)

* These are Free RPG Day modules, so they are only 1 XP, and may only be 1 PP, that keeps changing as time goes by...
