Alrighty kids, here be discussion!
Make sure your profiles are totally completed, you've spent gold as a level 2 PC, you took your free combat feat, as well as two traits.
Also, if you haven't already, please come up at least a few short paragraphs for background. No need for something crazy in depth, unless you feel so inclined.
Lastly(for now) if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Figaro Wisk |

Okay just so you are aware you know there is a button at the top of recruitment threads that allows you to connect the campaign all into one right? Well when you make them yu can basically do that whole campaign thingy with players and all that. Unless you did this on purpose.

Qiu Loutsa |

Still trying to decide whether I should take Improved initiative or dodge for the (previously unaware) extra combat feat... Also can we reassign skill ranks still, oh and spells known (as Enlarge Person is not going to work on our gang of native outsiders and Poppy is probably making the most of her size so only the bard and the wizard could benefit...)?
Otherwise I should be ready. Looking forward to starting soon.

Qiu Loutsa |

Quick question for Whiskey ( sorry but that is a fantastic nickname) I put a point into linguistics for sign language (so he can potentially communicate in combat [or without his chalkboard] and for an unrelated RP reason,) but I was wondering if it would be a problem if Qiu starts knowing it or if you would prefer if he learned it over time.

Voice of Awesomeness |

Figaro, how would you feel about using a modified Tongues Oracle curse, as opposed to just being mute?
Tongues: In times of stress or unease, you speak in tongues. Pick one of the following languages: Abyssal, Aklo, Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Ignan, Infernal, or Terran. Whenever you are in combat, you can only speak and understand the selected language. This does not interfere with spellcasting, but it does apply to spells that are language dependent. You gain the selected language as a bonus language. At 5th level, pick an additional language to speak in combat and add it to your list of known languages. At 10th level, you can understand any spoken language, as if under the effects of tongues, even during combat. At 15th level, you can speak and understand any language, but your speech is still restricted during combat.
It would be out of combat you can only speak the selected language, while in combat you can either speak normally, or perhaps not at all.
This way, you at least get some advantage as opposed to just a straight penalty.

Figaro Wisk |

Well the reason I picked being mute was two-fold; One it was to explain how a Sylph could be impacted with such abysmal cha. The other was to equalize for the fact I got probably the BEST stats and Class for said stat arrangement. It is a self imposed flaw and fits the character.
The impact is not as effective if He can speak anyway, because that would mean when he was young people would have talked to him thus effecting him differently. The struggle for everyday life would also explain why ALL his other stats are so high, as people take the ability to speak for granted. Overall I think its fine but if the group would rather the Tongues curse that is fine.. I will have to change the RP for it. Now.. he can UNDERSTAND you all quite fine and his class doesnt exactly require him to speak. In Combat I believe simple gestures should do fine.
For Qiu Im fine with him learning sign, especially If our party has known each other for some time. If you would like to progressively know it or learn it over our first level is up to you, really Im in for the RP. We are gunna kick all the arse.
Maybe eventually he could learn to speak or something especially tragic/powerful happens and he speaks for the first time.. but that is up to you. Maybe around 10th level, especially if his bond becomes close to the party... most likely they will be his first actual friends... Whiskey.. lol.

Figaro Wisk |

Maybe there is a quest to get a wish to speak... he would still need to go through speech lessons as the vocal chords would have never been used. Maybe he saves his loot up FOR that wish.

Qiu Loutsa |

I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to RP Qiu, but I know for certain he is fairly (to potentially extremely) nieve. However, if he knew Figaro from before the start of this then it would make sense if he talked too much to overcompensate for Figaro's silence. However, RPing the learning would be fun too.
On a somewhat related note what relations are we going to have going into this? Sanobi and Qiu probably would not know each other well as our backgrounds don't really jive well; Qiu is searching for his ancestry, whereas Sanobi knows all about them and may bear a grudge...

Figaro Wisk |

Sensory overload could very well be a thing at that point he'd have to take out paper and use ink to answer your questions.. like a list. [ooc]In that case since she seems interested in Figaro he might have to be the Bulwark between you to so that you all get along.

Qiu Loutsa |

We could stay true to the theme of the campaign and roll for it.
....Actually, I like that idea.
If you feel this relationship does not work for whatever reason feel free to submit/suggest your own (I may even do so as needed)
[Dice= Figaro "Whiskey" Wisk]1d100 [/dice] Same hometown or region O.o How do you feel about Tian? Though the the low charisma holding the party together is almost too good to pass up. Let's see what everyone else wants to do.
[Dice= Nayota "Is that Japanese?" Sanobi]1d100 [/dice] Know each other by reputation only. Must of heard of the Great Sanobi somewhere. :)
[Dice= Poppy "P for alliteration" Pomegranate]1d100 [/dice] Former allies, could we have dungeon delved before?
[Dice= Syntriani "I don't know her full name"]1d100 [/dice] Romantic competitors O.O might have to think about that one.
[Dice= Ifrit "Truant" Druid]1d100 [/dice] Reputation again.

Figaro Wisk |

Okay
I went order of named minus me
Druid: 1d100 ⇒ 68 Same Master.. weird
Syntriani: 1d100 ⇒ 65 Criminal connections.. Well he is Chaotic
Poppy: 1d100 ⇒ 3 Close as Family
Qiu: 1d100 ⇒ 99 Same Hometown or Region
Sanobi: 1d100 ⇒ 20 Hunting Companions
Someof these I can see working others are a stretch I find it funny we might be from the same Region.
Hehe Maybe you both went after the same person, maybe Whiskey catches your eye in a different way.

Qiu Loutsa |

Oh I can see it now
[Farcical back story] Qiu grew up in a large town whrre many caravans going over the crown of the world would meet amd thus had a large, vibrant and thriving population. One day he encountered a cute, quite and unassuming Sylph. For the next twenty years Qiu woild regularly visit with the mute Sylph and spend time with him, but never confessing his love. One day Qiu worked up the courage to confess but that was also the day he found his love had disappeared. He spent the next few years in a deep depression before starting to travel with caravans crossing the crown of the world. When the caravan he was traveling with stopped at a tavern one time whp should he meet but hos long lost love. But what's this? There's a blue-skinned girl staring at his love with the same look Qiu used. This won't stand. She has to go.[/Farcical back story]

Figaro Wisk |

[insert sassy black woman]Unh UH! No NO. Git your own *Snip Snap* Color Spray[/insert sassy black woman]
*Seriously would not know how to react to a confession of love on either front. *

Qiu Loutsa |

[insert sassy black woman]Unh UH! No NO. Git your own *Snip Snap* Color Spray[/insert sassy black woman]
*Seriously would not know how to react to a confession of love on either front.*
Oh that is hilarious. I would need to prepare Color Spray more often if he's going to use it every time he gets ticked off.
And the prodigal Urah appears. Welcome
Syntriani |

I love it.
[Semi-farcical back story]
Some time ago, a cute but quiet Sylph arrived in Riddleport. Fortunately, the first criminal to spot the easy mark was a fellow elemental-kin who took pity on him and brought him into the gang. They bonded over their outcast status and became close, "Callistrian friends", before an exotic Drow arrived, making the situation more complicated. 8^)
[/Semi-farcical back story]

Voice of Awesomeness |

For those of you who want to roll connections to the other players, you can re-roll duplicate results(to offer a bit more variety) or anything that doesn't seem to mesh well with yourself or the other player.
You don't have to, but just wanted to let you guys know you don't need to keep the initial random rolls.

Qiu Loutsa |

@Sanobi okay good to know, we won't be at each other's throats though he may follow you around asking questions for the longest time. :)
... We are not turning this into the 6 cha harem lol.
I admit it is quite entertaining however. This background alone is Rife with Plot!
[High-pitched sarcastic voice] But the quiet shy ones are just soooo kyuuuoote[/ High-pitched sarcastic voice]
Okay, GM approval. Thanks Awesome-sama.

Syntriani |

Okay, so what if I just tend to flirt outrageously with "Whiskey", and that is misconstrued by Qiu? (I am Callistrian... 8^)
Edit: And it's just so much fun making the quiet, shy ones blush.
Oh, and FYI, "Syntriani" is the only name I've ever known. <mutters>Must be nice to have some kind of connection to a family...</mutters>

Figaro Wisk |

*Writes on the board 'But I was also given up by my parents, they ignored me because I could not dance with the wind. Syntriani is a beautiful name, the wind - ' erases the message and the writes the rest ' - dances vibrantly when you say it. I'm jealous of your voice -' erasing it again '- Why do you call me Whiskey? Why don't I remember much after drinking my favorite drink?' contemplating his life thus far.*
Well yeah, according to novels, quiet and shy; they are normally ignored for the longest only to be found as a treasure later.. it doesnt hurt that Figaro is nice, really nice.. because he's had very few friends.

Syntriani |

You're a sweetheart. I knew there was a reason I keep you around.
Anyway, "Whiskey" is just more fun to say, and sounds better than "Figgy". 8^)
So, if we're establishing that "Whiskey" and I have known each other for a while, I'm going to reallocate a skill point to Linguistics to pick up his "hand language". If that's okay with the Almighty Voice. 8^)

Figaro Wisk |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

*is flustered*
I did not expect for him to be anywhere this popular. I can see it now, the party members ordering a tall glass of Whiskey, and much to his surprise.. its not the drink. This is turning out amazingly; Random Dungeon Ahoy!
[readiness for gameplay intensifies]

Poppy Pomegranate |

I for one am glad Poppy is not so popular. that might be annoying.
but if anyone ruffles poppy's hair. gets a hammer to the foot!
Also I am working on some idea for her personality.

Syntriani |

[dice=""Whiskey"]1d100[/dice] Friendly competitors. Yeah, gonna stick with what he rolled.
Sanobi: 1d100 ⇒ 43 Romantic competitors. That's coming up a lot. Wanna join the love-dodecahedron? 8^)
Poppy: 1d100 ⇒ 50 Former allies. Hmm, not sure how that would work. Any thoughts, P?
Qiu: 1d100 ⇒ 34 From the same hometown or region. Um, no. Contradicts already established details. Gonna stick with his roll.
Urah: 1d100 ⇒ 96 Tavern buddies. Hey, Urah, ever been out drinking in Riddleport? 8^)

Qiu Loutsa |

@Poppy
Good to know Qiu will be limping for a little bit. :D
Hmmm, I may have Qiu be "interested" in Whiskey and overly jealous without actually telling him even if we are just meeting for the first time. But I like the idea of them having met before. Maybe Qiu's caravan traveling brought him to Figaro's hometown (where is that by the way?)

Figaro Wisk |

@ Poppy: What about a piggyback ride?
@ Qiu: Most likely somewhere like Shokoro or Goka if we are from similar regions.. Symbols of Tian are easier to spell out too.
@ Syntriani: Why do I feel like she takes advantage of Whiskey.. in multiple ways.

Poppy Pomegranate |

Figgsy: I have Spot for that.
Ok I did not roll for poppy and the party:
Figgsy: 1d100 ⇒ 1 = Not seeing the family resemblance here. you takin hormone pills or something?
Sanobi: 1d100 ⇒ 16 = Hunting companions ahhh yeah ok
Poppy: Oh wait thats me
Q-ball1d100 ⇒ 69 = what a roll there <wink> we serve the same master, yeah who could that be?
Utah1d100 ⇒ 8 = Friend of a friend, hey your My brother's sister's cousin, best friend's sister's roommate
Syntax1d100 ⇒ 88 = Hey there buddy!!!! your my BFF, #buds

Figaro Wisk |

@Poppy, well its Family or Close as family its possible we are actually related just not immediately, considering Sylphs know Gnome and Sylvan and things like that, my parents could very well be uncles and aunts to yours.. Figaro is only 5'11"; With Sanobi we apparently both go hunting with her at some point. Also Spot is Shorter than me.. I can get you to higher places.. and climb ladders.

Noyata Sanobi |

"Sanobi has no romantic rivals cause The Great and Sexy Sanobi gets whatever tail she wants." :)
Hmm, so who else would be interested in the same types as Sanobi? Or is Sanobi interested in the exotic? Though normally I avoid romance, cause it's just weird to get into character and "desire" a guy. *shudders* Could be into girls, but that can get touchy with some folks.
@ Qiu (strange, normally people call me Q)
To answer a missed question, Noyata Sanobi is not japanese as far as I know, however I do like the linguistics of the language, particularly the consonant-vowel syllable pairs, and commonly follow similar syllabic patterns.
@ GM
I fixed the bonus feat to a combat one, Blind-fight. Just struck through the old one, cause I will most likely take it next feat, and fluff wise already have the tattoo, just need to learn to use it reliably.
@ fellow hunters
Sanobi recognizes hunting as an aristocratic sport, but prefers the less mundane sort of prey, instead going for bandits, creeps, perverts, evil cultists, adoration, an empty (or not empty) stage, etc.

Figaro Wisk |

Thats why it is called in character. I am a guy and I assume most people on the internet more than likely are also guys. So when it comes to playing a character if you are comfortable with such you organically play it out and think like THEM not yourself. For example, I am pretty sure I have my eyes set on females, but not particularly feminine women. Those who are self-sufficient, confident and can possibly fight are my thing. Figaro however has nowhere near my cha nor experience with life or companionship. He is a clean slate, thus he is likely to go one way or the other just as likely as to go both. He just wants everyone to be happy with him and as such is an easy mark. So easy its painful.
Oftentimes I actually DONT set my characters sexuality because it is variable save for a few concepts. Same as when I play a woman, I think about what SHE as a character would seek in a companion and go from there. Best advice I can give you? Let the adventure and dice determine the fate and 'roll' with the flow. You might just enjoy the ride.
I will tell you this, Figaro knows his birth is due two parents who through the line mated between human and elemental. As such he has not limit on who or what he could become romantically involved with. If any one of the party member flirted with Figaro, he would be flustered and flattered. He would think about what it is you find interesting in him. And he does this alot, because speaking was never a thing.. thus his thinking speeds are astounding.

Noyata Sanobi |

For the most part I agree, but some things just literally can't be done with me. For example, I can't play fear on any level because it is a completely foreign concept to me.
In the case of romance, I lack any personal experience, and additionally the vision of naked dudes just grosses me out enough to crack the me-vs-character divide. Possibly because me being in character doesn't mean I am not thinking out of character as well. I generally think on many levels at once, which means I can see things from multiple perspectives a once as well. With characters, I am watching them from their perspective, my perspective, a GM perspective, metagame, etc all at once.

Syntriani |

@Whiskey - Oh, absolutely. Boy toys are the best. 8^)
@Poppy - LG/CN BFFs. Well, they do say opposites attract. (What's the female version of "bromance"? 8^)
@Sanobi - No problem. I'm in a similar boat; IRL, I'm male, but playing female here. I'm a little surprised, frankly, how much I'm getting into the flirt role. Everybody has different comfort zones. We're here to have some fun, don't worry about pushing your boundaries unless you want to.
So, new connection to Sanobi:
Sanobi: 1d100 ⇒ 76 - Veterans of a skirmish or war... ? Not sure if that works either. I'm pretty sure I've never too far from Riddleport before now. Have you been in Varisia before?
Hey, Awesome-voice, is this game even set in Golarion? A bunch of us have been assuming so, but I don't recall if it was ever specifically stated...

Qiu Loutsa |

Well this is turning out more dynamically than I would have thought.
I can see it now, "Hey you wanna go raid a dungeon?" "Yeah, but we need more people, I do know a guy" "Wait, he doesn't happen to be -x-?" "Hey, how do you know him?" "Oh, we..."
@Poppy We both could have learned the basics of Dungeoneering from the same person, we were supposedly allies at one point too.
@Sanobi I normally also avoid romantic relations as well, partly because it can be hard to figure out how far is too far for many people. That's why Qiu likely to just have more of a jealous crush than push it into a full blown relationship, at least for now.
Also 日本語まあまあ話せます。(I can so-so speak Japanese, and I will use it for Tien. Just don't expect it to be perfectly grammatical, I am way out of practice. )
And I am not going to play Q. Just not will to be that disruptive.
