The 3rd Annual Paizocon Open Jousting Event!

Just a reminder to all and sundry that the third annual Open Jousting Competition at Paizocon will be held on Friday. This is a fun event that can handle a lot of people so I want to encourage all of you to attend! This is a head-to-head competition between characters using the performance combat rules and the special Jousting rules from "The Very Last Book About Mounted Combat". It's fast and furious play where every roll counts! All materials will be provided, so all you need to bring is your good self!

Just like last year, we will be using a Swiss System for pairing opponents, so participants will be able to play throughout the event and we will not be using eliminations. Jousting is a spectator sport, so feel free to bring your own cheering section along! As always, prizes will be awarded to our top three competitors.

I look forward to seeing you there!

I was hoping to obtain this even with the lottery system.... Is anyone willing to give up their ticket for attending that I can have... I don't have much to trade, I do have the offer for trading a ticket for the beginner box event, I was assigned the beginner box on two days....

I have enjoyed this even for the past two years.

I want to announce here that for our first place winner this year the Grand Prize will be a character sketch from artist Darran Caldemeyer! Darran's work has been featured in Wayfinder, Legendary Games, and at Adventureaweek.com. Prizes will be awarded for our 2nd and third place finishers as well.

I look forward to seeing you all there!

Sir Chuck is excited for a rematch this year, and always enjoys prizes. Be in awe of my charisma, ha ha!

I as well look forward to a rematch... and I thank the Sir who is willing to step down to give me that honor...

Thanks for running this, it was a blast! I highly recombine it for people to consider next year!

My son, Lord Ulgier aka "Uglier" had a blast at this event. I think it was actually his favorite at the con. It was a blast seeing him make the semi finals!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved for making it a great game.

NARWHALS! NARWHALS!

My profound thanks to everyone who attended the competition this year. We had a fantastic field of entrants, and some really exciting action.

And now to announce the winners:

In third place: Sir Eric the Arrogant, who's actually quite a nice fellow once you get to know him.

In second place: Sir Benedict Patchweasel, whose fresh steedPeppermint was a favorite with the crowd.

And our first place winner, who unseated all his challengers without breaking a sweat, was Sir Crispin, a last minute-entry who gamely took up the lance and rode to victory despite his initial trepidations.

Congratulations to our winners, and I look forward to seeing you all next year! In the meantime, if you'd like to run a joust in your own games, may I humbly suggest you pick up a copy of The Very Last Book About Mounted Combat.

I did not participate, but I dropped by for a few moments to cheer for one of the participants while waiting for my afternoon game--and the atmosphere in the room was great. This looked really fun, and is excellent proof that a good DM makes the event--the ads, in particular, were a touch of genius. I'll be certainly looking out for this next year!

Sir Armando Ricardo Bernado DeVasko is nursing his swollen face, but the world is not deprived of his beautiful, bountiful flowing hair.

What I saw when I dropped by was a little loud for my tastes, but it certainly seemed fun. Kudos for making something awesome!

Thanks everyone. I aim to make the tournament even louder next year by granting a +1 bonus for every dedicated fan that a participant brings to cheer for him/her. :)

Liberty's Edge

Do three drop-in fans count as one dedicated fan?

Scarab Sages

Rules to follow next year. :)
