Replaying Scenarios

Pathfinder Society

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Hello,

I have been playing in the Pathfinder Society for about two years. I have been very happy with how it is organized and with all of the support from Paizo.

However, I’m now having trouble finding scenarios that I have not played in. I know that I can choose to GM games, but barring that, I am getting to the point where I can't play anymore.

Therefore, would the Pathfinder Society ever reconsider allowing people to replay each scenario with a different character?-with the proviso that you inform that GM that you had previously played in the adventure. I know this issue has been probably brought up before, but I just wanted to give my 2 cents in.

Please have a great week!

Brought up many times, and they used to actually allow replay like that, and got rid of it due to issues it created. Search for replay in this forum, and you should find multiple threads on the subject.

When you are having trouble finding new scenarios, volunteer your time to bring new scenarios to other people by GMing. There are several benefits to this, you get to experience the scenario again from a new perspective, you can get GM credits to keep advancing your pcs, and even actually gain a few replays that you can use for a select few favorite scenarios as you gain stars. You are in the same boat that I have been in recently, and this is what I did. I do not think that you are giving enough credit to GMing, it is basically replaying the scenario from a different angle.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path Subscriber

Also, modules and Adventure Paths are great ways to supplement scenarios.

The recent Dragon's Demand module takes a PC from level 1 through 6.

For Adventure Paths, you have:
Rise of the Runelords
Carrion Crown
Jade Regent
Shattered Star
Skull and Shackles
Reign of Winter
(and presumably Mummy's Mask soon)

Also look at the Thornkeep dungeon.

You may also want to look into on-line play to facilitate some of the longer (module) type play opportunities.

As stated above, Replay is a sensitive topic, and a search of the boards should reveal 10,000 opinions (and help you understand that it is not likely to change significantly anytime soon).

So look to the other play opportunities out there if you can!

It sounds like you are pidgeon-holing yourself by playing too much PFS. You've had to play approximately two scenarios per week (at least) to get to this point in 2 years. They only release 2 per month so at that rate it's expected this would happen.

I suggest finding a home game and playing an AP or something. Or you could GM. Either way you should probably cut back to no more than 2 scenarios per month played.

This subject is brought up all of the time but I don't see the them changing anything anytime soon.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

For reference, here is a thread that was started about this topic a mere 5 days ago.

For further reference, here and here are posts within that very same thread that link to past debates and comments about this topic.

For fun, however, here is a post within that thread (again) that details a plan to play twice a week for PFS credit. Follow that plan and you'll never have to worry about over-indulging again.

But do please stop asking for replay before researching possible reasons for WHY there is no replay. The search feature within these boards is your friend. Dealing with this zombie horse...not so much.
