Swashbuckler / Kensai

Advice

Hey guys was thinking about trying a 1st level Swashbuckler and then going Kensai the rest of the way. Hoping to go the combat reflexes/bodyguard and dervish dance route. Like the idea of using Opportune parry and riposte just curious if anyone tried it or had suggestions

Anybody? Or if someone else has done something similar can someone point the way?

I had a similar idea here.

Scarab Sages

I am use to all of these classes in 3.5, but not quite sure where you are connecting them all in pathfinder. I thought dervish was a bard archtype :o Do you have your first couple levels planned out?

I don't like multiclassing caster classes. I tried out a straight Kensai (scimitar with dervish dance) and it worked quite well until about level 14 or so when I started to find that my saving throws were not keeping up.

The Crane Style feats really made the build shine but Crane Wing has been murdered so unless you have a nice GM that will allow the pre-nerfed version don't bother.

Level 1 Swashbuckler (finesse) combat reflexes and Extra grit
Level 2 Kensai
Level 3 Kensai Dervish dance so now I can use the scimitar for piercing

Take bodyguard by level 5 Opportune parry and riposte is mainly why I'm dipping into Swashbuckler
