How does Ring of Protection +1 work?

Advice

Hi, I'm kinda new to this stuff and the party to their first Ring of Protection +1. Based on the wording below, I'm lead to believe this only applies a + 1 bonus to Touch AC. Can anybody clarify what a Ring of Protection + 1 does and how it works? Thanks!

Thanks ahead of time!

Silver Crusade

A Ring of Protection applies its bonus to all 3 types of AC (normal, touch, and flat-footed). The line at the end is there to specify that it applies to touch, not to exclude the others.

It applies to Normal AC, Flatfooted and Touch. The line at the end is calling it out as specifically applying to touch AC as well. Many AC bonus don't apply to touch AC so the book often calls out when the bonus does apply.

Thanks everyone!

To be accurate, everything affects Touch AC except Armor Bonus, Shield Bonus and Natural Armor Bonus.

True, but those are, by far, the most common armour bonuses.

And don't forget that deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC also add to your CMD!

Absolutely correct but if you remember those three it makes reverse calculating Touch ACs on the fly very simple.

This ring, gives you a +1 to AC, Touch AC, Flat AC, CMD, and Flat CMD(if your party even uses that). It counts as a Deflection Bonus.
