I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on iobaria.
On of my pcs might be forced to join the group with a new character once they reach iobaria.
What sort of characters and races should they realistically be able to choose from.
I get the impression that the dvezda marshes are not really a wizard , cleric or paladin kind of area.
My initial read of the dvezda article suggests either some form of treasure hunting character or a human member of one of the tribes (so barbarian, ranger, sorcerer, Oracle or druid)
Is there anything I have missed that could be useful for tips to provide the player on creation?
(n.b. I don't really want to go down the centaur route as I don't really understand the levelling up rules and it could also create balance problems if they need to have reincarnation cast on them later - I'm considering making it a dancing hut ability)
You could have the person be someone who was a prisoner in the Hut.
But really, Iobaria can have any race. They can be a wanderer, a survivor of a shipwreck, a member of a barbarian tribe, or the like. The region suffers frequent plagues that prevents long-term civilizations, but that hasn't stopped people from trying to colonize the region, and villages sometimes last for a while.
