Weather Generator

Reign of Winter

Hi,

I made this weather generator for the first part of the Reign of Winter campaign. It is easily customizable, but really focuses on cold weather since I would have no use for hot weather in this campaign. It is a little confusing with the layout but I also didn't want the data all over the place. I may have it mostly balanced so the snow doesn't pile up all over the place but I am changing things on it all the time. There are percentage chances for different types of wind, the severity of weather (Normal, Inclement, etc), different amounts of snowfall, and the temperature is based on a normal curve and you can input the average and stdev. I tried to include as many rules as possible from the core book in here, most notably the chances of lightning storms and tornadoes. You just hit F9 repeatedly and it tells you different weather. You could make a different page for each region you are in and play around with the numbers. The weird part that I threw in for balance was that if it is very windy, some snow will blow around, effectively removing some accumulation since I know in some areas there will be a lot of snow and it will NOT be warm enough for the snow to melt.

Google Docs Weather Generator

I know most of you won't see a need for it and will just rule which weather happens which day but I thought this would be fun for when I run my campaign in about 2 months. I wrote up separate weather effect cards as opposed to writing all the programming to have this tell me what the cumulative effects are. It was just easier.

Opinions?

Courtney

Well I guess the F9 (recalculate) button really only works in Excel and not Google Docs so you will probably have to download it if you want to see it in action.
