flying in air elemental form, how many miles in a day?

Rules Questions

I have a druid player who just hit level six and can wildshape into a small air elemental, fly speed 60'. He has a druid's vestment, so one extra wild shape per day. How many miles could he cover in one day? He's claiming he can fly 100 miles in 12-14 hours.

Scarab Sages

without hustling at all so just moving at his basic rate it should be much more than that

100ft a round (6 seconds)
1,000ft a minute
60,000ft an hour
360,000ft in a 6 hour wildshape period.
Stop and have a rest and some food

Repeat twice for a total of

10,800,000 feet or 2045.45miles in three wild shapes

1363.64 miles in 12 hours of travelling

urgh, was reading the base Small Elemental speed not 60'. Same steps as before though.

Scarab Sages

81 miles

30ft movement over 8 hours is just 24 miles. This is twice that (and Overland Flight shows that flying doesn't change time here). So that's 48 miles. That's one move action per round.

If he could hustle (two move actions per round), then that would be 96 feet. He CAN hustle, of course, but he'll take non-lethal damage. One hour is free, the next hour is 1 point non-lethal, then 2, then 4, doubling each time. So that's 64+32+16+8+4+2+1+0 damage. Or 127. Taking a break halfway through and healing all the non-lethal damage should reset this (so that would just be 7 damage each time) but take maybe 9 hours? DM call here, rules aren't clear.

"Walking" (one move action) would also work but take longer. The Druid has 3 wildshapes for 6 hours each. That's 18 hours of movement. After 8 hours, they make a Constitution Check (DC 10 + 2/hour) or take 1d6 non-lethal damage. 18 hours total would get them 108 miles.

In all cases they become fatigued once they take non-lethal damage, but that won't stop them from being able to move.

See Overland Movement.

Thanks for the answers! Very much appreciate
