I know that there's no official rules for creating strongholds, but I recently learned of the "create demiplane" spell. For any magic user that is an AWESOME stronghold. However, I'm playing a magus... and thus I cant go beyond level 6 spells. So I'm looking for cool alternatives. I really want to create my own. I've got various crafting feats (wondrous items, arms and armor, construct). The best alternative I can find is instant fortress (A DC 23 without the mage's magnificient mansion spell). No rules however on how to modify/expand the fortress (in it's base form, it's tiny). Any other ideas?

Hire someone to do it for you.
Do it because you're the GM, and you can do anything. If you player's ever ask how you did it, just wave your hands in the air and yell, "REASONS!"
I'm no GM... But I thought there where level restrictions on scrolls? Or is that just a DC thing?
Edit: I went to check use magic device, and I am really happy I took the trait that allows you to use Intelligence on Use Magic Device checks.

They have to be your CL or lower I believe. Though again, that doesn't mean you can't go find your local God Wizard and paying him a hefty sum to do it for you.
Well, I couldnt scribe it anyway (it's not on the magus spell list) but the setting is overflowing with god wizards (it's a school for caster's that's supposed to bring us to epic level) so it should be doable, for a price. Still, it's at least a DC28 UMD check, so I'll have to wait a while. I'm just level 6 for now.
BTW, anybody have any ideas about improving an Instant Fortress? Would normal weapon/item enhancement rules work?

It's basically a demiplane inside a bottle. I imagine I could try to convince the DM to houserule such an item in.

You can craft without the needed spell, it just raises the spellcraft check. Create a one-time-use gem that when you smash it, creates a demiplane. Build your stronghold inside. Win.
