Ouch. That means plasma damage would be the least damaging overall, since a great many creatures have resistances to both...

On the other hand, not a lot of things are immune to both, and I don't doubt there are technological items that could deal enough to even get through a Demon Lord's resistances.

Also why plasma tends to do more base damage. If a laser does a base of 2d6 fire damage, plasma would do 4d6 damage (half fire, half electricity).

Plasma can also damage invisible creatures, which makes it a better choice if you know (or have reason to believe) your opponent has a cloaking device (or an Invisibility spell).

Wait, can't invisible creatures normally be damaged? I'm confused.

They can't be damaged by lasers, so if the demon or daemon or devil or what have you you're fighting has electricity resistance, but can also turn invisible, then laser is the worse choice, because lasers can't hit invisible things.

I was sort of going on "Laser vs. Plasma" rather than "Plasma vs. Regular Sword".

Part of the point of the new tech weapons is to slightly tweak and adjust some of the expectations. They don't JUST do energy damage.

I'm too excited about new tech weapons to sit still. Why must 32 days from now be... well... 32 days from now?

All Paizo releases occur on a fixed spot in time according to the Doctor (who has tve same audio-publisher).

Is it too early to start asking for the Player's Guide?

my guess is yes:(

{from front seat, in monotone parent voice:} We're almost there. ;)

IGPG probably won't be out 'til August. So at least 15 days, probably more like 28.

That being said... there's going to be Campaign Traits for Iron Gods in People of the River.

Yep, too early. My aim, as has been the case for the last four or five of these I've done, will be to have the Player's Guide available when the first issue of the AP is available. In this case, that's the first day of GenCon.

Dark Archive

Well, there is a mini player's guide on pages 30-32 of People of the River.

Which means it will be released at some point during the only Two Weeks period between the July releases and the August releases at Gencon correct?

You can trust that I monitor pretty much all of these messageboards when a new AP gets announced and I already know I'm tapped to be an author for it. And, early comments like yours which express initial skepticism just motivate me that much more to knock your socks off and, as Adam said, change your mind. I suspect fellow authors on any given AP probably feel the same. We take it as a challenge to challenge ourselves in winning you (the collective "you") over.

Wait, the piles upon piles of cash aren't motivation enough:-p
