Miniatures

I've been looking for stuff to flesh out my games, I'm looking for all manners of stuff. I love playing in Numeria and Aballon but never have good mini's to represent robots and aliens or tiles and map to represent sci-fi terrain such as inside wreckage in Numeria or the dungeon of Red Redoubt of Karamoss.

Anyone got suggestions?

Generally speaking, if you're looking for unpainted pewter minis, I really like Reaper's Chronoscope Line (says the unashamed local Reaper fangirl). It's there anything but standard fantasy line and you'll find some robots and aliens and Steampunk and sci-fi looking stuff.

For flat maps, like flip mats, maybe Maps of Mastery might have something up your alley? Although Christopher West's sci-fi maps are largely for space opera stuff.

For terrain, peruse the Warstore's terrain section for stuff like JR Steampunk terrain. (I'm noting Steampunk because a lot of sci fi stuff is, again, spaceships.) Or stuff like the Platformer click-assembly terrain.

Depending, a lot of Warhammer 40K stuff might be appropriate too, if you're willing to pay for it or can find it cheap.

This list is not exhaustive and I know other people will post more options.

I've looked into the Chronoscope line, I've picked up a few things out of it a while back for a friend. I liked the sculpts, I might pick up the cyborgs and a few other bits and ends. I've got a group of Greys that I'm used as Fraals for a old ADnD game. Though I'd like some ideas for pre-painted mini's as well, I doubt the Pathfinder Battles line is gonna put out some numerian automaton any time soon.

Warhammer 40k, its a limitless expanse of sci-fi goodies but I'm not exactly for spending all that money. I did get some bits and pieces from a friend of mine who plays 40k and his order came out with a extra box or two of one or two things so he kept what he wanted and gave me the necrons warriors, machine priest, and a some sort of dark elder piece that is a Medusa looking thing. I'm using the nercons as troops from Eox, for a 'necrotech' I have in game, the Machine Priest is from Verces, being a Vessel and a Augment, the medusa thing is a Numerian Witch.

As for your suggestions for the terrain those are good ideas, some of those steampunk bits will do great to flesh out the inside of a metal dungeon, I like making electric traps through nodes and one of those looks perfect.

You also might look into Litko Aerosystems Space Corridor terrain.

Master Set

When I want SF minis, Ground Zero Games is where I look. The Stargrunt range is their 28mm stuff.

WoTC's line of Star Wars minis has plenty of droids for your robotic needs. There are even a few full-color terrain mats for the Star Wars minis game. I've got one that shows some sort of ruined Jedi temple that works well for otherwordly fantasy and another one of what I think is the inside of a Star Destroyer if I want to do a Barrier Peaks kind of adventure.

Mage Knight figures can also be picked up fairly cheap and they're pretty easy to mod. One of the factions has all sorts of robots from mechanical horses and dragonflies to Robotech-looking battlebots.

I've thought of using the Star Wars miniature line but usually cant find much besides the typical droids the empire used, and as for the maps can you link me to them possibly? The 'jedi temple' map sounds interesting for a psionic temple maybe, etc. Also the Star Destroyer map would be great for me, I'm running a pathfinder Blackmoor game and they will be heading into the City of the Gods eventually.

Mage Knights! I've converted plenty of Mage Knights! The crudy sculpts are not a problem, there are plenty of good sculpts! I've converted a few of their Atlantis figures for a Azlanti campaign we did a while back, complete with clockwork constructs, etc. I've used the more necromancer faction as parts of nex and geb conflicts, the other items are here and there depending what mini's you find.

I'll try to figure out what the Star Wars maps' names are when I get home tonight and get you some more info on them. I think I pulled the Jedi Temple map out of a GTM magazine when they were helping to promote the game.

In the meantime, I just found this site that might have some useful stuff for you.

EDIT - found this one too.

Here you go. Troll and Toad sells both of the maps I have (the Christophsis market/Freight Station and the Korriban Throne Room) and alot more. Some are out of stock, but maybe they'll get some used copies.

The Korriban Throne Room is the one I thought was a Jedi temple. The photo isn't that great because it shows the map folded up, but I did manage to find this small pic of it.

Some free paper dungeon terrain (including Sci-Fi).

Thanks everyone! Velcro those maps will work for my Blackmoor P-A game! I found a few packs of the Star Wars miniatures in a discount bin and bought them so now I've got a few basic droids and some other mini's for my group. Pres man that is a interesting thing,I havent used paper dungeons, etc. in a while, that might be useful. A fellow gamer pointed me to the bendy walls magnetic set, it comes in a sci-fi set so that might work well.

Any other ideas? Possibly something a little post apocalyptic with a fantasy tinge? I've been wanting some ideas for my Blackmoor game, and some P-A maps would be lovely.

It's really hard to find complete sets now but, if you're lucky, you might find some of these Rackham Reversible Game Tiles. Some of the tiles have rundown slummy looking areas on them that work well for ruined cityscapes.

I found all four sets at a minis shop in Seattle in few years ago, and they're awesome. One side typically features a daylight image of the terrain and the other shows the same scene at night. Others show woodland, cave and building interiors. Well worth the price if you can find them.

They also made these AT-34 tiles for a futuristic sci-fi mech battle game. I never bought these, but I imagine the quality is just as good.

Those seem great if I could find them, though I will look for them regardless they'd make great additions to my collection of rpg stuff.

AT-34 is a great game, sad that the entire range is now rare to get a hold off. They were durable mini's made of plastic and I loved them.
