Our party composition and my build, no spoilers please

Reign of Winter

So, our DM has generously given us a 20 pt buy and here is the party break down so far.

Halfling Cavalier (Emissary)
Combat Druid (AC probably a bear)
Paladin (prob Weapon Bond)
Switch hitter Ranger (Witchguard)
Human Witch (me!)

DM suggested as I'm a witch and ranger is taking Witchguard that we ran from Irresen.

So my back story is that I'm a renegade Jadwiga, and as neither of us had the temperament for the brutality expected of us, we ran with some assistance with the more 'liberal' stilyagi. Thus, I'm starting off with more defensive hexes, Ward and Healing, Scribe Scroll (CLW, Hex Ward will be crafted right away) and my character's intent WAS to be a peacenik, but by L2 will pull out Evil Eye and will Extra Hex it at level 3 and 5 to get REALLY into rebuffing mode so I can squeeze in Cackle, Misfortune, and Flight by level 5.

I will be taking the Agility Patron (hello Haste at 6th my party of melee dudes).

STR 10
DEX 14
CON 10
INT 19
WIS 10
CHR 12

How doomed are we?

Liberty's Edge

I'd probably drop a bit of strength just to get a bit of constitution, but over all it seems like a fairly decent group and a solid build to support them.

So you've got a lot of minor healing (depending on the druid/witch builds). Going with healing wands?

You've got a lot of conditional damage situations, which means at even given time, someone is going to shine and the others are going to be average. Interesting.

Looks like they're piling up most of the casting on you, with a bunch of minor back up (I assume the Druid is going to focus mostly on buffing himself).

Should be fun for you!

You all should be fine. Sounds like a decent make up of a party to me.

Yeah, you'll be fine. The witch with a witchguard thing is pretty neat, too.

Your DM is going to be a sad panda once that paladin hits 11th and gets Aura of Justice. Aura of Justice is crazy strong, though it can only be used a couple times a day.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I do think that we will be rocking the action economy against the baddies.

Healing will be the interesting part. The druid and the pally will take care of themselves I'm sure. I will be able to heal every one once/day with a hex, and I will be making a ton of scrolls...the rest will come down to wands...and avoiding damage to begin with. (Hmmm...baddie has to roll twice, take the lowest and is -2 to -4 on top of that...tee hee)

You'd be surprised at how effective Paladins can be at healing party members. Especially if the Paladin has a decent or high Charisma (which in my opinion is probably the better stat than Strength to put points into). I mean, a Level 10 Paladin with a Charisma of 18 would be healing 5d6 hit points nine times a day. If he takes the Extra Channel Feat, then he can pump out two area-affect 5d6 heals in addition without reducing the lay-on-hands. Even a level 4 Paladin with 18 Charisma would be healing 2d6 hit points six times a day... and also able to reduce fatigue or the like and thus negate the effects of hypothermia.
