Title says it all really. The Bane supernatural ability the inq gets at fifth level reads "an inquisitor can imbue one of her weapons with the bane weapon special ability as a swift action." Normally a special ability can only be placed on a magic weapon, but in this case the restriction feels wrong to me.
Also, if indeed the bane ability can be placed on a mundane weapon, does that weapon count as magical for DR/magic?

The inquisitor's Bane ability does not say anything about requiring a +1 or even masterwork quality. It only mentions that the inquisitor must be the one holding the weapon. So I see no reason you couldn't use Bane on a mundane weapon.
The second question is more debatable. Considering the weapon special ability Bane stats it gives you an enhancement bonus of +2 more than usual, I would think it would count as magical for DR purposes, as long as it was being used against the creature type that Bane had been activated to combat.
