What makes a Hex a "Resource Hex" ?

Kingmaker

I see that resource hex provide bonuses... But what makes a Hex a "Resource Hex" ?

(thanks in advance)

Whatever you decide it does. A forest with valuable timber, a mine of some sort (coal, gold, silver, copper, iron, gems, lead, tin...), a meadow with magical flowers. The key should be that it provides tuff without a lot of extra effort.

I typically made it "any hex that has a location in it that gives a resource". So the Sootscale mine (silver), the gold mine, the fangberry patch, the Mud Bowl (cosmetic and alchemical supplies), the hot springs, etc. etc. etc. Those kinds of locations on the map that provide the PCs something they can use to equip, invest, or produce in their kingdom.

As Tonyz said, no reason you can't say "this hex has something that's not on the map because I wanted to put it there, or you came up with an inventive use for something you found that makes it worthwhile to harvest".

Oh, okay - thanks guys. I am stuck in a boardgame mentality, I was tyring to find hexes on the map with Resource symbols! LOL

Indeed! I've been spotting my Stolen Lands maps with skymetals for a dual-plotline I've introduced involving Numeria and Cthulu. =)

Placing resources is good times!

On the maps of KM, it should be those that have the marking of 2 coincs behind eachother: vaguely like this: CO

Hope that helps. It's in the adventure paths, just look closely.
(for example the page where Jhod's picture is)
