Miniature / Pawn Requirement - How Strict?

I've written most of the Open Call post I'm planning and was reviewing the submission rules when I saw

Open Call wrote:

by either a Pathfinder Battles miniature (http://paizo.com/
pathfinder/battles) or a Pathfinder Pawn (http://paizo.com/
pathfinder/pawns).

One of the "fun" parts of an encounter involves animated objects. I could instead use hidden or disguised mooks, but that makes the encounter significantly more pedestrian.

How strict is this rule? Should I change my neat animated objects into a few standard Bestiary humanoids just because there are miniatures for them?

I've read over the rules again and see that the NPCs have to be represented by one of their minis or or pawns.

Slight change to the question: Can you think of any minis or pawns that would make a suitable table or chair?

Checking the list on the product page, the Bestiary Box has a pawn for animated objects (pawn 37). Does that solve your problem?

Well damn.

Is my face red.

I swear I checked that list and just didn't see it. Maybe I was just looking for "table" instead of "animated object."

...

On a completely unrelated note... how does one delete a post so that no one ever has to know you asked a stupid question?

I suppose you could ask the Paizo web-team to delete the thread and not tell Mark about it.

Your suggestion wouldn't work, Chris.

Why not, Mark?

Oh nose!

I realized my error when I got home and looked at my web browser. I had been staring at the Rise of the Runelords pawn list.

The quest is coming along nicely. Hopefully I'll have it finished by this weekend.

I was always told 'stupid questions are not stupid if you don't know the answer. Ask them anyway.'

Good luck with your quest.

Speaking of that, I saw some nice pawns of children and villagers in the RoTRL pawn set my friend had. I notice online only about 180 figures are named while the set mentions being made up of 300 or so pawns.

Is their anywhere I can find a full inventory of said pawns and how do I reference such pawns in a submission?

Edit: Please assume I 'get' the editorial positions in regard to mature content and I won't be doing anything nasty to said children other than the demonic/undead/lycanthopic/rakashas in disguise/devilish ones who will behave in something age appropriate-like.

I've found one of the minis that I get the most use out of in PFS is my fat little pig-farmer miniature. It's great for representing helpless civilians, often role-played with a southern English accent. Having some good villager pawns/minis is really useful.

Any answer on this?

The Rise of the Runelords Pawn Collection contains 81 distinct creatures and over 100 total pawns (the parentheticals after each pawn lists how many of that creature are included in the set). I've got my set here and am not seeing any children or villagers in it, however. Is it possible you were looking at something other than Pathfinder Pawns?

Are you thinking of the Sandpoint Paper Minis perhaps? That has a lot of townsfolk and children.

Or the Rotrl Paper Minis?

Some people have made them look like pawns.

PC: "Why are you carrying a pig?"
Thug: "wots it to yous, nots like your going to know wherin I feed pigglies here after 'ms done beatn you to mush"

Thanks for the answer Mark. I figured it out after my second post that I indeed had been looking at the Sandport paper minis and my friend refered to them as the RotRL pawns.

I was still hoping you would say, Yes! indeed you are right! Alas the world does not work exactly how I wish it.

This sort of thing happens to me all the time man. Don't feel bad about it. I wrote and submitted a quest using the moniker of "Grand Harvester" for a character. Then literally a day or two later ran a mod from one of the early seasons that mentioned a "Grand Harvestman". I felt pretty dumb and needless to say I doubt it will get picked up... I also went on to suggest some ideas on the general GM forums to improve my game experience only to have people show me that all of the concerns I had were already addressed or were in the process of being addressed by Paizo. At the end of the day you are not alone when it comes to stuff like this. =)

Pig-man must be at least level four by now, he's been involved in so many adventures.

Pig-man: "Fangs for savin' me mud-farm shiny-fancy adventrin' folk, now I ken' gavva more mud to build anuvva' mud-hut for summa me seventeen children."

Okay, I'll stop now, otherwise there'll have to be a Pig Man Mini Fan Thread.
