Adamantium / Mithril in Pathfinder's Golarion world?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I'm just getting into the Pathfinder game/books...so don't bite my head off yet. I'm reading about the Starfell (basics) and this question popped into my head.

How rare are these metals?
How rare are items crafted from these?
In Pathfinder...is there any "underdark/drow/deep earth" properties of their crafted items that suffer in the upper world?
(as in previous Drow weapons and such for other genre of RPGs).

As rare as the GM wants to make them.

Default answer for Golarion, IIRC, is no. Metal usually works just as good at ground level as it does down in the Darklands.

The whole "drow items degrade in sunlight" is the result of fluff that no longer exists, or rather, never existed, because Dorw magic has little to do with the Darklands, but rather with their own free choice towards depravity.

As to the other two, I have no idea about Mithril, but Adamantium probably only exists in Numeria, and there should definitely be a very finite amount, since most of it must be scavenged from pieces of space-ship, some of which don't appreciate having their metal yanked...so at best, pretty dang rare, and at worse, nearly unobtainable.

Mithril's mined from the ground and, while uncommon, far from unavailable.

Adamantine originates from crashed spacecraft, the largest of which is in Numeria, but it's the metal the whole (larger than city sized) ship is pretty much made out of, and it's probably one of Numeria's only real exports, so it's by no means unknown in the Inner Sea region outside Numeria...just hideously expensive. Which it, of course, is by the RAW.

Wiki article on the various skymetals. There is a link there for Adamantine.

Adamantium doesn't exist on Golarion, nor are there rules for it in the Pathfinder RPG.

Adamantine does exist.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE POSTS. Clarity is achieved.

Back to the game.
