I complain to people bigger than me all the time. I just don't start it off by saying "Hey! You moron! What the #*@& are you doing?!".

Usually.

Yes. Its only because you are not a rude ahole and you know how to debate in a civil manner.

Oh, I'm a rude a-hole. I freely admit that. I just save it for people I really think are Morons, I figure it's my kharmic job to make their lives heck on earth. :)

In your closet or in the basement? Do you restrain him with rope, tape, or chains?

Back from jogging. Did anybody threaten to fly over to Poland, find my village and tear me a new one while I was gone?

Second verse, same as the first. Let it go and let's just get back on topic, kaythanxbaibainow.

There is a good reason why Blizzards release dates are 'When its done'. It is more about quality and your LONG TERM reputation than a short term gain at the xmas shopping counters.

Paizo's release dates for the RPG line slip fairly regularly. The only one that's non-negotiable is the GenCon release in August.

Their other lines are set up to be monthly or bi-monthly. While these also sometimes slip, due to the subscription system, they cause massive subscriber complaints. The AP line is monthly and is probably the hardest release date in the pack. They have committed to 2 6-issue APs per year.

DGRM44,

Just let it go. You've gotten upset and allowed the insulters to get under your skin. You're no longer contributing to Paizo's understanding of customer upset with things in the UM. Now you're just feeding people who enjoy annoying others. You'll never get people to stop insulting you at this rate. Just ignore them, and respond on topic only. If someone insults you, flag the post, and move on.

I hear you but it is hard to let the insults slide. I guess you are a better man than I am.

1. Why would you post something without expectation of response?

Oh, I thought there might be a response. I figured that posters that know Jason may laugh.

2. Why would you post something that is incorrect? No one is saying that SIZE settles an argument. SHEEESH! Where are you getting that from? What IS being said on the other hand is that when you insult a stranger you HAVE NO IDEA OF THEIR SIZE or TEMPERAMENT. So maybe you should stop with the INSULTS????

Because I may have been extrapolating from your argument towards insults and comparing that to complaints. Besides are you saying there are no posts in this thread that might not be insulting to the game designers? (And, no I'm not going back to re-read the whole thread - I'm going by what I remember.) And in that case, Jason is a designer and bigger than almost all of us... And I imagine Jason is a stranger to a lot of posters in this thread, and those of us that have met him would know that he is bigger than those complaining, and frankly I thought that was funny and wanted to share with people on this thread that I know. (And now I'm talking in circles.)

And perhaps this is derailing the thread further...

In the interests of peace I will not respond in detail to this post.

Ummm... Jason is on rather an aggressive and effective diet, judging by his recent pics.

On a more serious note:

RPG rules are like laws. There are strict, concrete definitions and there are areas that are intentionally left not precise to allow for discretion of whoever does apply the law. UK law doesn't have a definition of "murder", yet it somewhat functions.

I have no problems with rules that are vague, I just apply my own understanding of them.

I disagre with this whole heartedly. This creates arguments among the players. I will spare you my take on how attorneys exploit vague laws for profit and fun.
I don't care about arguments among the players. I'm the God...I mean I'm the boss...sorry, I'm the GM.

In groups with one GM such things may not matter, but I have never been in a one GM group, and while not all of us run the game the exact same way I would still like for all of us to have the same understanding for how things work.

As a side note:How many groups have only one GM? I am looking at a percentage. I am not asking for a factual number, just opinions.

I've never been in a group where there were two or more GMs.

I've been in a group where I had someone acting as Assistant while I was GMing. I've been in a group where I was a GM and someone else in the group GM'ed in a different game (which I was in, or not in, both). But I've never been in a group where two people in the group were the GM of the same game.

What I mean is I might GM Pathfinder and when my campaign is done someone else steps up to run a game.

In the current group of gamers I'm in, there's probably about 14-16 total people. Of those, about 9 GM on a regular/semi-regular basis, and 5-7 generally do not GM at all.

Yes. Consistent rulings would be awesome.

Legendary Games, Necromancer Games

Alright, I've tried my best here to inform people that the realities of the gaming business simply don't allow for that level of accuracy. Now, that isn't to say you shouldn't complain about products with errors. And the publisher should listen. But the rants or criticisms by some people here are just unfounded. The quality of Paizo's products, given our niche industry (and that is what it is) is EXCEPTIONAL. Are there errors? Of course. Does everyone wish there weren't errors? Of course. Do the guys at Paizo try their best to make them error free? Yes. BUT the realities of RPG publishing just don't permit it.

Someone mentioned Blizzard and their "when it's done" philosophy. That just doesn't work in gaming. If you don't believe me, I wont be able to convince you. I've done this, so I speak from experience.

This thread, unfortunately, has descended into something I dont want to be a part of. Sorry to see that. I'm out of this thread for now. Good luck to everyone. See you all when maturity returns.

Please know these boards have a reputation as being the best community in all of gaming. I don't like to see what I am seeing here. I urge the participants to do better. You can have intelligent discourse without lobbing grenades and personal threats and other similar conduct. Please keep in mind the fine tradition of this community. And I mean everyone, not just the fans.

I hope you guys move on from this.

Or nerdrage diminishes. (Yeah, right.)

A game is not a game is not a game. In short other than having the word game in there I see no basis for comparison. It is about the same as saying that just because pdf's are cheap that printed books should be cheap because they are both books.

I think this thread is done. A number of valid complaints have been raised, which I can assure you we are listening to, but making threats against other posters because of differing opinions is not cool.
