Worldwound Terrain?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hey all, I'm thinking of making a ranger who's an expert demon hunter in the Worldwound, but I'm a little vexed as to what Favored Terrain to choose. Is the Worldwound mostly plains? Or is it more Tundra?

Any help would be great!
cheers!

Depending on where you're at in the Worldwound, these terrains would work:

Cold
Plains
Swamp
Mountain (this would be the closest analogy to the actual chasms of the Worldwound itself)
Forest

This should be in the FAQ.

Ummm... why?

AKA: I've never heard anyone ask about good terrain choices for the Worldwound before, so it's hardly "frequently asked."

Ok maybe not the FAQ but I find it a very useful bit of information. That is until the book is made and released.

Let's put it in the IABSCQ! (Infrequently asked but still cool questions)

Grand Lodge

It seems "Cold" would be the most correct.

Wouldn't DMs be more accurate to rule that any swamp in the Worldwound is "Cold" first and foremost (that "swamp" would be a "sub-terrain," ditto with "mountain" and "plains")?

"Cold" isn't meant to be some sort of uber-terrain. It's basically meant to cover exactly what's listed after its entry: ice, glaciers, snow, and tundra. In the case of the Worldwound, it's tundra that's the key. Swamp and other terrain features take precedence over it all even if they're snowed upon.

With the Wrath of the Righteous AP I think it will be asked more frequently.

I looked in the WotR AP Player's Guide. I was hoping for an new terrain "Wouldwound" for Rangers, Horizon Walkers, etc. That would make the most sense. It wasn't in the guide. I haven't delved into the books or the AP yet. Might it be there?

Is any of the terrain so mutated as to actually count as the Abyss?

Looking at the world wound book while there is clear seepage my guess is that the only place that might cound is the actual rip in reality that conects to the abyss.
