Not only is this guy actually an Israeli, he's also a carpenter by trade. He has done this costume for quite a while now, and loves telling the story

I just love the candid nature of the shot...

Not many pics this time around because it was a short con, but it was fun.

Also, as many of you know, I was out hanging out with our own CH last night. Here are a few remembered choice lines from last night, that CH may come in here and correct, as I was quite pickled later in the evening...

Me: Ah! 19 degrees! Perfect weather!
CH: No. It isn't. It really isn't. I'd add more quips, but my jaw has frozen shut.

Me: Don't you just love the night air? It's INVIGORATING!!!!!
CH: You practically have to hide inside a dead animal for warmth. Mark your calendar, I made a Star Wars reference!
Me: Hiding inside a dead animal for warmth? Now that's a PERFECT SUMMER DAY!
CH: What's winter? Hiding inside a dead animal that's hiding inside another dead animal?

CH: Hey, you know how I said we should go downtown Manhattan to see what new places we could find to eat? Yeah, maybe we should do that when it isn't a freezing arctic wind whipping at us...

You could find some place that serves seal fat, frozen fishes, and polar bear paws.

~LAUGHTER~ How Aliens SHOULD have ended.

It's a mixed morning for smells in my apartment. Earlier was the smell of cooking bacon, which is very good. Then, came the smell of cooking beef and onions, which is also good. This was quickly replaced (or perhaps augmented) by the smell of the chili that the beef and onions formed the base of, which is also also good. But now, the smell of the chili in the slow cooker is vying with the smell of the clear-coat I sprayed on a model, which is very strong and not good. Hopefully the exhaust fan clears the spray paint smell soon, and I can go back to just smelling the chili.

CH! Sushi next time! That's where we can go and what we can eat!

Urgh... Snow... Wet, gray, cold. And I need to go to shop buy a few things...

Beautiful day on tap, Heading to the coast where it will be 77.

Random thought of the day: Lord Of The Rings Online is like Pathfinder. You can play all you want for free, you can spend some money on it, or you can get a subscription. Folks on chat are like on messageboard. Mostly nice and helpful but with a sprinkle of jerks, a few trolls, and a bunch of randoms ignorants that will argue their opinions constitute the absolute truth despite being based on obsolete, mistaken, or outright false data.

'Sprinkle of jerks' works perfectly as a collective noun.

Screw you bastid...The weather was here we wish you were beautiful.

11 am and I am not only awake but washed and clothed... It might have something to do with me going for a session in two hours. And waking up around eight.

~grumbles~ There are those days when no ammount of overtime is worth waking up this early.

~LAUGHTER~

Some of Rosetta's comet pictures.

Good to have you back, Badgah.

Return home from session was much better. It was 0.8 degree Celsius. I think that near freezing temperature removed excess moisture from the air and thus prevented the usual windchill effect.

No need to thank me.

Meh. Father will come here for a few days in the first week of February instead of later as I initially thought... Not thrilled, especially that I will need to do a few things before his arrival.

Just got back from seeing The Hobbit: The battle of 5 armies. While enjoyable it left me a little meh as compared to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I think I liked the 1977 tv movie version better.

Dear neighbour. Please stop your car alarm from sounding off every five minutes.

And a third entry for my blog!

I should have these proofread and edited by my assistant at some part.
Then again, having constructive critique of some sort would help in general.

Hey all you East Coasters be safe and stay warm.

In retrospect, getting piss-ass drunk and watching "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas" may not have been the best idea. I feel like I'm going to puke.

Perhaps I should have tried harder. Instead of the occasional flurries forecasted for here, we got a tenth of an inch of ice.

Yes.

EDIT: Well, now, anyway.

Anybody know where I can get interns to perform a WangChungian Sun Dance? I figure that might help counteract Freehold and his Snow Dance.

I was an intern, but you don't want to see me dance, and am now a stay-at-home. Sorry.

NOTHING CAN COUNTERACT THE WUNIAN SNOW DANCE

except maybe for Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party....and even then, maybe. I think that is due to Aberzombie's influence.

Last night on the latest world series of poker we had The City of New York versus Freehold DM's Weather Dominator. New York City had 3 aces and a pair of jacks, but it appears that The WEATHER DOMINATOR was able to bluff them down. Remind me to never play poker with the WEATHER DOMINATOR.
