Improved Familiar's Intelligence Score?

Rules Questions

Some Improved Familiars have high Int scores, such as:

Homunculus - Int 10
Imp - Int 13
Pseudodragon - Int 10
Quasit - Int 11

These familiars can be gained at level 7. The Familiar Ability table (page 83) shows that a familiar at level has a 9 Int.

Since the rules don't state "Your familiar's Intelligence is the greater of the result in the table or the base Intelligence for a creature of the familiar's kind", I then assume that whatever is indicated in the table, is what the familiar's Int is. Are there any rules to the contrary?

Interesting question. I don't see any official rules, but as a GM, I would house rule it to let them keep the higher intelligence. It would be pretty crappy to nurf a wizard's newly "improved" familiar like that, even if it is just for a level or so.
