Trying to figure out if you can add an ability to a "named" magic item like the Oathbow? The question is complicated as the chacter in question is a wizard and the bow is what he has bonded to.
On that subject, what is involved in a wizard adding abilities to there bonded object? Is it just being able to cast the spell, do they need to spend the gold, and still make the roll

This actually came up in the divine bond thread, and I honestly don't know. some items that are non-magical like elven chanmail, I would say absolutely. some of the other named items leave me with more question than answers.
Some follow up questions. Assuming you can add enhancements to the named items.
If I have a +5 oathbow, does the +3 enhancement bonus from the oath ability allow you to exceed the normal +5 enhancement bonus limit or are you still capped at +5? How does the oath count for the purpose of the +10 limit on special abilities on weapons?
If I have mithril full plate of speed, and I want to make it an +2 enhancement bonus. Do I pay the price for going from +1 to +2 or do I pay the price for going from +4 to +5? The pricing of MFPoS is identical to +4 Mithril Full Plate which implies that the of speed is a +3 bonus, but the rules don't actually say what the bonus is.
